My DP likes the name Lucie but I'm undecided.
What kind of images does it generate?

I had Lucia on my list personally, partner didn't like it.

Sirzy · 28/03/2022 15:29

Personally I much prefer the Lucy spelling. But it’s a lovely name

ukborn · 28/03/2022 15:48

It's ok but why not spell it Lucy? Isn't that the more regular spelling.

ButterRose · 28/03/2022 15:49

Personally I like Lucine with Lucy as a nn

Baileysoncereal · 28/03/2022 15:50

Lucine, lucia are both lovely
Lucy I think is a bit meh
And lucie is a meh name trying to be special but at least it’s not loosie

NativityDreaming · 28/03/2022 15:50

I think it is a very boring name, no bad connotations or anything just really bland.

Comedycook · 28/03/2022 15:52

Prefer it spelt Lucy

Or you could go for Lucia which is lovely

Nelliephant1 · 28/03/2022 15:57

Nice name, awful spelling. She'd go through her life saying - "my names Lucy, l.u.c.i.e, or Lucy with an I.e". No one needs that.

weaselish · 28/03/2022 15:59

I wouldn't - will make them have to spell it out all the time. Just spell it normally or choose a different name. Lucia is nicer

AHungryCaterpillar · 28/03/2022 16:00

Boring

NannyR · 28/03/2022 16:04

I really like Lucy, not keen on the -ie spelling. I see Lucy as quite a strong name, but Lucie looks a bit frilly and little-girlish.

RoseMartha · 28/03/2022 16:05

I prefer Lucy spelling but I really like the name

Lulu1919 · 28/03/2022 16:05

Lucie ..is french spelling ....I like it

emmathedilemma · 28/03/2022 16:11

This!

Another who agrees with - if you are going to use it, spell it the regular way.

For me it's one of those "it's okay" names. Nothing wrong with it, but not particularly keen either.

BrokenRecords · 28/03/2022 16:22

Prefer the Lucy spelling but a lovely name. Classic ?

Shaunthesheep34 · 28/03/2022 16:31

I love it, my daughters name is Lucie , it's such a beautiful name and spelling for a beautiful little girl.

ImInStealthMode · 28/03/2022 16:33

I prefer the Lucy spelling, but I may be influenced by knowing a not very nice Lucian who goes by Lucie (pronounced Lu-chi).

KirstenBlest · 28/03/2022 20:34

Lucy is nice. Lucie will be that kid who gets given personalised gifts with the usual spelling of the name

Caramelcap · 28/03/2022 20:53

Love it but prefer Lucy

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 28/03/2022 20:54

Lucy

Bergamotte · 28/03/2022 20:59

I like Lucy but for some reason seeing Lucie makes me feel weird. I don't like it and find it hard to imagine an adult with that spelling.

ThisIsNotThePostYourLookingFor · 28/03/2022 21:00

I have a Lucie. Love this version. ‘Lucy’ is boring imo.

Nosetickle · 28/03/2022 21:24

I like Lucie and think it’s a lovely variation on the usual spelling.

DramaAlpaca · 28/03/2022 21:25

I don't like that spelling, it's a bit twee. I adore Lucy though.
