We would use Callie as a nickname! 🥰

I love it!

Juancornetto · 23/03/2022 06:54

It's lovely

emmathedilemma · 23/03/2022 10:24

Awful, sounds like a treatment for thrush!
Sorry

WhatIsThisPlease · 23/03/2022 10:24

Beautiful

headspin10 · 23/03/2022 10:25

Callie is so nice!

TabithaTittlemouse · 23/03/2022 10:25

It’s lovely, really underused!

CraftyCleopatra · 23/03/2022 10:26

Flockhart comes to mind…Ally McBeal…but that’s not a bad association…it’s just the only one I know. I like it!

WildCherryBlossom · 23/03/2022 10:58

I really like Callista and Callie!

AHungryCaterpillar · 23/03/2022 11:03

Lovely

Isonthecase · 23/03/2022 11:12

I've also seen Callisto which I prefer slightly but really like both of them.

Kanaloa · 23/03/2022 11:12

I like Callie but not so keen on Callista. It’s okay though, just not a favourite for me.

estoybien · 23/03/2022 11:34

Slightly on the fence with this one. I tend to read it as Alistair but with a C at the beginning (because I don't pronounce a strong r sound). Love the shortening of Callie though and also like Callia and Calliope.

Giggorata · 23/03/2022 11:45

I like it.

mocktail · 23/03/2022 11:55

I really like it. I know a Callie but have no idea what (if anything) hers is short for.

Callisto would be a boys' name surely with the 'o' ending?

LaMarschallin · 23/03/2022 11:59

You may already know, but if not, the origin of the name "Callisto" is here:

Not saying it makes it (or "Callista") better or worse, just an interesting story Smile

Facciadimerda · 23/03/2022 12:00

I have a Calista and we call her Callie, so I love it! It's pronounced with the stress on the second syllable, so it's Ca-LIS-ta.

Nopetryagain · 23/03/2022 12:00

I think of Ally McBeal but I quite like it

PollyPutTheKettleOnKettleOn · 23/03/2022 12:02

Love it

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 23/03/2022 12:03

Callie I love. Callista less so.

mocktail · 23/03/2022 12:15

@LaMarschallin thanks for that link. I was wrong to assume Callisto was a boys' name then! Smile

I wonder if it's different because it's Greek not Latin (although my classical knowledge is pretty weak; I just like reading myths).
I quite like Callisto or Callista, but the latter may sound more like a girl's name these days.
A long-winded way of saying I didn't mean to be correcting you - I was just reminded of the story of Callisto Smile

BreastedBoobilyToTheStairs · 23/03/2022 13:42

It's top of my list! Love it

DoucheCanoe · 23/03/2022 13:53

I think of Ally McBeal too.

Callie was on my list for my imaginary not happening third child but my friend just nicked it for her real born DC EnvyGrin It's a lovely name in its own right.

Lambkin689 · 23/03/2022 13:53

It sounds a bit like "canister"
