Nova

Considering Nova for our dd due very soon. But was wondering how popular it is. How many do you know?

None. The only Novas I've ever known were made by Vauxhall.

One, she's in her 70s.

One. Teenage. I like it. Unusual.

My friends 1 year old is called Nova. Only one I know.

Boss' son has just named his girl Nova

It's like Luna - a name people like but give to their dogs because it's hard to live with (translates as 'doesn't go/work')

Particularly dachshunds

It was my first car. Feels like scrabbling around for an Eva/Ava sounding name without being one of those.

Whilst I know it is an astronomy term and potentially a pretty name, to me it conjures up an image of a small Vauxhall car, usually beige.

My health visitor is called Nova and my friend's 20 something year old daughter. I like it, it's unusual without being too 'out there'.

I know one, born late 70’s. Mum drove a nova, she survived. Quite harsh on the ear.

Don't know any with Nova as a first name, but I know one with Nova as a middle name. I like it.

One, our Puppy. I would use it for a human also.

I used to have a Vauxhall Nova. It was a shit car and cost me a shed load of dosh. If I met a kid called Nova I would be tempted to shout 'you useless bag of shit' at it.

I know of a Nova, she's 6, her sisters are called aurora and I can't for the life of me think of the other one.

It's much more popular in the States than it is in the UK at the moment.

Reminds me of the cheesy pick up line in American pie … they call me Nova, as in Casanova
