You don't hear this name too much anymore (or at least I don't!).

What are peoples opinions please?

And would you spell Jody as above, or Jodie?

Thanks!

I love Jody (boy) or Jodie (girl) great choice.

FionnulaTheCooler · 19/03/2022 13:06

I like it but only for a girl, with the Jodie spelling.

suckingonchillidogs · 19/03/2022 13:10

I was meant to be Jodie but someone told my mum it sounded like a budgie. I really like it and wouldn't have minded being a Jodie at all!

OOapplecrumble · 19/03/2022 13:10

I like it.

ReeseWitherfork · 19/03/2022 13:11

@Roselilly36

Agree with this.

Lovely name.

Caramelcap · 19/03/2022 16:47

I think it's a bit 90s - a lot of 30ish year olds with that name.

Kite22 · 19/03/2022 17:20

Haven't come across one for years.
Only ever come across it for a girl.
Only ever seen it as Jodie.

I quite like it as it happens.

drpet49 · 19/03/2022 17:34

Bit chavvy

MK19590 · 19/03/2022 17:38

Nice but I imagine Jody/Jolie to be in her late 20s or early 30s

spotcheck · 19/03/2022 17:45

Tis a lovely name- not 'chavvy' at all

notacooldad · 19/03/2022 17:47

I love it. The only one I know is in her 59s now.
It was on my list if I had girls.
Spoiler, I didn’t!

notacooldad · 19/03/2022 17:49

The only one I know is in her 59s now
Meant 50’s but she probably is about 59 as she is older than me.

Lurking9to5 · 19/03/2022 17:50

I know a man called jody. Thats it.
Feel like it's perceived to be dated though

user1493494961 · 19/03/2022 17:50

A bit downmarket.

BrutusMcDogface · 19/03/2022 17:51

Love it!

Strawberry33 · 19/03/2022 17:53

No I don’t think it’s nice at all. It’s dated but not in a classy way. It’s in the same category as “Trisha” or the like…

babysleephelp · 19/03/2022 19:42

Ok mixed bag! Thanks all Smile

Don’t like it at all

JodienotJody · 19/03/2022 20:07

Name changed for obvious reasons .....

I'm a Jodie ( trying not to get offended by the chavvy /downmarket comments!!)

It's not done me any harm. I'm 40 but I have met Jodie's younger than me.

The only thing I will say is it will get misspelled no matter how you spell it. I get Jody or Jodi at least once a week!!

Orphlids · 19/03/2022 21:02

I rather like it. I do think it’s a bit dated, but not to the extent it would put me off. I think it’s quite a cool name - the cool kid, maybe a little bit naughty. It’s a lovely sound.

Luredbyapomegranate · 19/03/2022 21:25

It’s very 90s. I didn’t like it then and don’t now, it’s sort of nothingy and also quite ugly.

JodienotJody · 19/03/2022 21:28

Non taken 😂😂

SouthParkCovid · 19/03/2022 21:29

Every Jodie i have known was a bully

JodienotJody · 19/03/2022 21:35

@SouthParkCovid

Every Jodie i have known was a bully
I'm a Jodie and I was bullied relentlessly throughout my childhood.

As a way of identifying bullies I dint think it's foolproof 🤷🏼‍♀️

Aspidistra1 · 19/03/2022 21:38

I’ve known 3, all similar ages - 30s

1 x Jodie
1 x Jodi
1 x Jo-Dee

I think Jodie is probably the nicest. I actually
like it and it is unusual.

Couple of famous ones - Jodie Whittaker and Jodie Comer, both fab!
