Classic and beautiful, wet and twee or something else? What do you think of Lucy?

Fine. Quite sweet, but also rather bland.

I like it, but can’t imagine loving it.

Batinhernightdress · 11/03/2022 22:34

Juicy

Bellyups · 11/03/2022 22:35

Classic and beautiful

apricotdreams · 11/03/2022 22:38

Lovely

Snowbell99 · 11/03/2022 22:38

Nice and classic but also a bit 90s because it was way more common then. Most I know are in their mid 20s. I wouldn't use it as I am a bit tired of it.

I do like Lucina which is a very old name but wouldn't use it.

You can't really go wrong with Lucy. But it's not an exciting choice. Classic and old, yes, but a bit 90s. Sort of like Chloe.

Floralnomad · 11/03/2022 22:39

Dull .

Ilikecheeseontoast · 11/03/2022 22:40

Nice but safe. Lucia as an alternative?

mnistooaddictive · 11/03/2022 22:43

I’m called Lucy and have always hated it

Norabuzz · 11/03/2022 22:46

Love it. Classic but not too popular.

AHungryCaterpillar · 11/03/2022 22:47

I agree... dull

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 11/03/2022 22:50

Boring.

Loads of lovely names out there. Lucy sounds like you couldn’t think of a name.

MrsElm · 11/03/2022 22:53

I have an almost 12 year old Lucy. She is beautiful and wise and quirky and fiesty, but kind and loving and utterly gorgeous. So I may be a little bit biased, but I think it's a fine name!

Luredbyapomegranate · 11/03/2022 22:54

Wet and twee is a bit harsh but it’s little girly - I would not want to be called it as an adult.

I like Lucienne a lot so you could go Lucienne nn Lucy (or Lucinda or Lucia)

SuckIt · 11/03/2022 22:55

It’s a lovely name. Not unusual but also not common.

MrsElm · 11/03/2022 22:55

What I'm trying to say is that your DD will become her name, and her name will become her, so choose a name you love.

Unless, of course, it's Apricot Wink

CheeseRadio · 11/03/2022 22:56

I love Lucy. The ones I've known have all been really strong, confident girls and women.

soulinablackberrypie · 11/03/2022 23:11

I like it a lot. Yes, it's pretty and feminine sounding but not in a soppy way IMO.

42isthemeaning · 11/03/2022 23:19

Lucy is a gorgeous name
Bringer of light
My Lucy was born at dawn so very apt Smile

perimenofertility · 11/03/2022 23:21

I love it, it's beautiful and classic. I don't think of it as a 90s name or a fad name, probably because I know a few Lucys of various ages - one now in her 90s! I work with a Lucy who was named after the character in the Lion, Witch, Wardrobe book, which she loves.

DramaAlpaca · 11/03/2022 23:23

Love it. A very simple, sweet, beautiful name.

HerRoyalNotness · 11/03/2022 23:24

I have one and we get many compliments on her name. In the US though where it’s less common

She really suits it, she’s a funny, entertaining and clever little girl.

tigerbird · 11/03/2022 23:24

I love it! Classic, simple and pretty.

HerRoyalNotness · 11/03/2022 23:25

Yes same, which is partly why I chose it
StScholastica · 11/03/2022 23:35

She shall be sportive as the fawn, that wild with glee across the lawn and up mountain streams.

Love it.

Talipesmum · 11/03/2022 23:41

Love it. One of my fav girls names. Book characters called Lucy are always brave and fearless with good characters. And my doll was called Lucy when I was little.
