Joseph?

I really like it. But is it dated? Old fashioned? Due in 2 weeks and bored to tears thinking about it!
Sister is Jessica so they will both have the same initials.

Not mad on Joseph. Don’t like joe. But If you do go for it !

PoniesLove · 05/03/2022 13:59

Love Jessica btw!

MissyB1 · 05/03/2022 14:02

I love it. One of my boys is Thomas Joseph, but he was nearly Joseph Thomas.
It’s a classic name but not over used these days.

ParkheadParadise · 05/03/2022 14:05

I love it
💚💚

TidyDancer · 05/03/2022 14:08

It's a lovely name, but I would avoid the same initials if you can so could it be a middle name instead?

Bluelillies · 05/03/2022 14:09

I wanted Joseph for one of mine but I don’t like joe
I ended up with Joshua which I also loved but didn’t know of any others
Ten where born in the year after him (I’m not sore about this-much)

Joseph is a lovely name

Blubells · 05/03/2022 17:36

He'll end up as Joe. I'm not keen

Firebird83 · 05/03/2022 17:54

It’s lovely.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 05/03/2022 17:56

Love it. Really love Joe.

dementedma · 05/03/2022 17:59

I have a Joseph. Never a Joe. If anyone calls him Joe he just politely tells people his name is Joseph. He's 20 now and always a Joseph. Its a great name

capstix · 05/03/2022 18:02

I like the name Joe. Joe is one of the boys. I can't say I like the name Joseph, if that's how you plan to address your son. That sounds too archaic to me these days, like Josiah, Bertram, Harold etc.

However, if you are going to address him as Joe, then I do think you should Christen him Joseph. I personally find it mildly grating when people Christen their children with short names. If you're going to call your son Harry, Christen him Henry. Ditto Jacks should be Johns, Jamies should be Jameses and Toms should be Thomases. But that's just me.

SuperSocks · 05/03/2022 18:29

I prefer Jacob but it's fine.

Curlysusie · 05/03/2022 18:35

Love it 😊

snowone · 05/03/2022 18:52

I love Joseph, however have had 2 DD. I nearly used Josie for DD1 but didn't want to risk not being able to use Joseph if we had a boy.

BluesCluesToo · 05/03/2022 18:55

It's classic. I love it x

CoffeeAndCaramel · 05/03/2022 18:56

I really like it and love joey for NN x

Roselilly36 · 05/03/2022 19:21

Gorgeous name, love Joseph

princesspq · 05/03/2022 19:48

Love it, traditional but also feels fresh

QueenofLouisiana · 05/03/2022 20:44

I love it, it is DS’s middle name. I wanted it was his first name, but DH knew he’d end up calling him Joe- I don’t like shortened names, so we had to change our plans (at 39 weeks, I was a bit miffed).

Flexitarian · 05/03/2022 20:45

I love it. I won’t have any more babies but if I did it would be on my list

user1493494961 · 05/03/2022 20:49

Joseph is lovely. I have a nephew who is always Joseph, never Joe.

Kanaloa · 05/03/2022 20:51

It’s a nice name. Can’t really go wrong with a name like Joseph. The only thing I would think is are you planning more children? You might then feel stuck to J names since the first two have them!

LizzieBet14 · 05/03/2022 20:56

I love both Joseph & Joe. I had it ready for my 2nd baby..... but then we found out we were having a girl!

Shoutymomma · 05/03/2022 21:00

Joseph and Joe both splendid names that last into adulthood, but same initials = arguments over post.

resm · 05/03/2022 21:45

I love Joseph and would have used it if it wasn’t my nephew’s name. He’s always been Joseph, never Joe (now 21).
