Someone I know with that name. No one calls her it - she signs off minty and that's what people call her

I really strongly dislike it. Ara- just isn't a nice sound to me, -mint- is even worse and as a whole it's an unpleasant mixture of clunky and too fussy.

Absolutely love it. I watched and read moondial as a child. The main character was called Minty (Araminta) and I always thought it was a such a cool name.

I've always quite liked it. If you like it, go for it. There isn't a name that exists that won't get at least a handful of negative comments on mumsnet.

I think it's the name of a character is Crazy Rich Asians. It's a pretty name.

Sorry, my first thought was that it sounds like an artificial sweetener or some sort of weird herbal supplement.

I knew an Araminta. She was lovely but very very posh.
