OH says Jasper Carrot..
I love it!

I know one who is 10 now. He's a lovely boy and suits his name... but I'm not a fan to be honest.
Seems a bit 'wet' to me (sorry!).
I prefer Casper.

I like Jasper. I’m not sure any of the references people are making are relevant any more and the name is very popular so clearly not too much of an issue to be in wide use.

Sorry, it reminds me of the “Oh Sir Jasper do not touch me” joke from my schooldays. And also it’s the name of one of the villains who abducted the puppies for Cruella deVil in Dodie Smith’s book The 101 dalmatians.

It does make me think of Jasper Carrot a little bit, but I don’t mind that. As long as your surname isn’t Carrot it shouldn’t be a problem.

I love this name. I wanted to call a future son Casper/Kasper but that is my partner's name.
