I've only ever met one Roman who was Ukrainian. He was a bit of a dick but I still like the name.

It’s not popular around here so I guess it depends on where you are.

It’s number 21 on the names list and was the highest climbing boys name of 2021.

Roman makes me think of Roman Kemp?

And Romeo is lovely, but does have a bit of a lothario connotation!

How about Matteo? Or Rocco?

My favourite Italian boys name is Luca.

I know a Roman (ROman) who constantly has his name mispronounced as roMAN) so bear that in mind.
And Romeo? No, too lothario.

Roman for me. Romeo just seems a bit ‘much’ to wear daily, it’s a bit over the top to me. But Roman feels a lot more wearable. It is getting a little bit more popular but that honestly wouldn’t bother me. It’s a lovely name.
