Any thoughts on Zerelda as a Babyname for a girl?

Interesting, I'm not sure if it sounds nice or not to be honest. Is it a family name or an original one?

LethargicActress · 27/01/2022 19:14

It has a witchy vibe.

Curlycurlygirly · 27/01/2022 19:16

www.howtopronounce.com/zerelda

This would be the pronounciation

It sounds like you're trying too hard to be original.

sadpapercourtesan · 27/01/2022 19:17

Wasn't she an Enid Blyton character? One of the school stories?

It's OK as a word, but I find it a bit whimsical and overblown as a name.

SpringSpringTime · 27/01/2022 19:17

I’ve known Zeldas and Esmereldas, but names I like, but Zerelda sounds off to me-I think it’s the rhythm, like it has a syllable missing

SpringSpringTime · 27/01/2022 19:18

Both not but

Zerelda Brass - an American girl who shocked everyone with her makeup, hair style and bad acting. That's the only Zerelda I have ever come across.
Tal45 · 27/01/2022 19:21

I don't like it, it sounds like you've tried to put two names together and come up with that.

MeredithGreyishblue · 27/01/2022 19:23

Malory Towers! Brash & American and everything was "wunnerful" and Alison had a crush on her

LosingTheWill2022 · 27/01/2022 19:24

I immediately got witchy vibes too.
I could get over that if I liked the name but I really don't. Sorry

MeredithGreyishblue · 27/01/2022 19:24

It has to be a grownupname too!

Allpenguinsarepingus · 27/01/2022 19:24

I prefer zelda

Allpenguinsarepingus · 27/01/2022 19:25

Sabrina the teenage Witch has an Aunt Zelda which is probably why people get witchy vibes.

SirChenjins · 27/01/2022 19:28

It looks like you’ve squished two names together in an attempt to get a name that is yooneeq and spesh.

Classica · 27/01/2022 19:28

A sexy palm reader in a Victorian travelling fair.

Classica · 27/01/2022 19:29

(birth name Gladys Botts)

PattyPan · 27/01/2022 19:30

Sounds like a character in an 80s sci-fi

DontTellThemYourNamePike · 27/01/2022 20:34

I looked it up and see there have been a couple of famous Zereldas dating back to the 1800s. I was surprised as it sounds very modern to me. I'm not overly keen on it to be honest.

WorstXmasEver · 27/01/2022 20:41

They'd just get called Zelda.

In my kids class there is a kid called "Gleb"...made up names are silly IMO

CloseYourEyesAndSee · 27/01/2022 20:42

Nope

isittheholidaysyet · 27/01/2022 20:44

First thought...
Mallory Towers fan?

DontTellThemYourNamePike · 27/01/2022 20:49

It's not a made up name, just for the record.

Doubleglouceater · 27/01/2022 20:51

Yep, Malory Towers!!!

Houseplantmad · 27/01/2022 20:51

Not for me. Sounds like a pharmaceutical product.
