What do you think of this name for a boy? I think it's kind of cool and vintage at the same time

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
SummaLuvin · 23/01/2022 15:09

I don't view it as vintage, to me it feels more American.

I'm not really fond of it, but it might just be that we don't share similar taste on names.

DramaAlpaca · 23/01/2022 15:11

I like it. I've only ever met one.

Danikm151 · 23/01/2022 15:36

Has someone watched The Kingsman and picked up on the name? 😂
I like it but not for a toddler it’s deffo a man name

KirstenBlest · 23/01/2022 17:30

It's ok.
It shortens to Con which sounds cool but is a rude word in France, should that be an issue

I haven't, but definitely will now! Hope it's a cool character!

Grin HTH

That's why the blunt replies are of value.

Nice change to see an OP who appreciates it. I'd cross off Peter too, as much as I like the name, and don't consider Penny for a girl

finallychangedmyusername · 23/01/2022 19:48

If you like Conrad, but can't use then these have a similar vibe to me:

Evander
Alaric
Casimir
Lucian

greenteafiend · 24/01/2022 02:34

Caleb has a similar feel.

FixItUpChappie · 24/01/2022 03:05

I like it. I like Connor a bit more though.

HuntingoftheSnark · 24/01/2022 03:29

It's my favourite boys' name ever - I had a daughter so couldn't use it. I think of Heart of Darkness.

Strokethefurrywall · 24/01/2022 03:52

Fabulous name. My friend is Conrad but he’s 44.

Don’t know if any others but that’s why I like it so much.

I have a Conrad and it’s never ever been shortened to Con by us or anyone else Confused

It’s a brilliant name. Be prepared for some odd looks when he is a baby but by the time he’s 18 months he will have grown right into it. Mine is 8 now and much cooler and more popular than I was at the same age Smile

LumosSolem · 24/01/2022 06:56

See I think of Conrad and Amber in footballer's wives but that's going back a bit 😁

Luckingfovely · 24/01/2022 07:09

I love it!

PrettyBluebells · 24/01/2022 07:38

I know a Conrad, who will be in his mid fifties now. Very handsome and charismatic, so that's my association with the name. I'd use it.

BennysBingoBonanza · 24/01/2022 07:41

I was at school with a Conrad, a very cool arty boy who is now a very cool artist. So I’d say go for it, if it wasn’t for the Con/being French thing.

KirstenBlest · 24/01/2022 10:44

@User4748294496, I have a Conrad and it’s never ever been shortened to Con by us or anyone else

Not yet.

pantjog · 24/01/2022 10:52

I love it.

Caspianberg · 24/01/2022 12:13

I love it. It was on our list.

I know several Conrad’s ranging from 10-90 years. All still called Conrad, never Con.

HPLikecraft · 24/01/2022 14:14

I like it because my Polish DGF was Konrad. I always thought it sounded friendly... maybe it reminded me of the word 'comrade'.

Blubells · 24/01/2022 15:41

I like Conrad.

I know one who's always known as Conrad.

Luredbyapomegranate · 24/01/2022 19:24

I think if his Dad's French I wouldn't!

How about something nicely Anglo-French like Lucian...

upaladderagain · 24/01/2022 22:24

The only Conrad I know is never shortened to Con. Cool name.

CockingASnook · 24/01/2022 22:39

Great name but then I studied the author at uni. Conrad Anker is another cool Conrad.
