If I like Magnus...

What other names might I like?

We both like Magnus & keep coming back to it, but we both absolutely loved the girl name we'd chosen (Astrid) but don't feel as strongly about any male names yet (& we now know that baby is a boy).

DH likes Torsten too; I like it but don't love it.

No - although my uncle has lived there for 30+ years & my aunt & cousins are. DH has some Norwegian heritage, although a few generations back.

Mattias - I like but our surname also has "tt" in it and it looks odd together.

I quite like Angus but not as much as Magnus.

I've not heard the name Thorus - Thorben has been considered though.

Marcus - not keen. Not sure why!

Magnus was first choice if dd had been a boy. Gutted we won't get to use it 😢 We also had Torstein/Torsten so maybe we have similar taste. other names on the list were

Just choose Magnus - it's a fabulous name! Hector is another really strong, similar sounding name that I love.

Magnus is brilliant! Why are you trying something else? I've got an Angus who has friends called Hector, Marcus and Erik.

We were both so certain about Astrid, but don't feel as strongly about Magnus. We really like it but don't love it, if that makes sense?

But I keep reading suggested names now and thinking "that's lovely, but I prefer still Magnus" - so I think it might be the one!

Caspian is lovely but I strongly associate with a horse I used to ride

Magnus isn't in the top 100 (according to ONS) so I'm not too worried about popularity.

Astrid was what I was going to call DS 1... he ended up as a Luke. How about Hamish?
