Always liked this name. What do you think?
Any ideas which middle names sound good with it?

Love it.

ParadiseLaundry · 13/01/2022 14:24

Gorgeous name.

liveforsummer · 13/01/2022 14:29

Great name, for some reason (probably because of Jesse James) I'm drawn to another name starting with j, just seems to have a nice ring. Jesse John? Any significant family names? It will go with many names tbh

bleachedgusset · 13/01/2022 14:31

My friend has a 9 year old son called Jesse. He's a brilliant little human!

SandyPanda · 13/01/2022 14:32

I don't like it, my sister is Jessie and to me it's always a girl's name. Sorry!

ViceLikeBlip · 13/01/2022 14:33

Love it. (Strong 90s Home and Away vibes 😉)

Theforest · 13/01/2022 14:34

Great name. Go for it.

Aria999 · 13/01/2022 14:36

I like it but he might get bullied for having a girl name. You know what kids are like.

liveforsummer · 13/01/2022 14:42

Personally ive never known a girl named Jesse, it's always been a boys name to me. Any girls have always been either Jessica or Jess

KirstenBlest · 13/01/2022 14:49

I know an adult Jesse. He hates it because of the 'you big Jessie' jokes

Kittycat24 · 13/01/2022 14:50

Fab, thanks for the replies so far. John is a family name actually so a possibility. Was always a fan of Home and Away too Grin

I know some people will see it as a girl's name. I don't know any Jessie's so I tend to not see it that way.

Yes a very cool name.

I can't understand why people get funny about it.
Jesse = boy name
Jessie = girls name

There are plenty of names that can be for both anyway e.g. Francis/Frances Alex/Alex

I think Jessie in that context is a very dated word. Not heard it in years and will have long died out by the time a potential baby is grown
DotDotDotDotDot · 13/01/2022 15:01

I like the suggestion of Jesse John, especially as it’s a family name for you, he could be JJ for a nickname, cute.
Or maybe a variation of John
Jesse Ivan
Jesse Evan
Jesse Eoin

Its a lovely name and I really wanted if for DS but DH won out in the end, but I would keep it for future (hypothetical!!) Baby

KirstenBlest · 13/01/2022 15:14

I'm only repeating what Jesse said, @liveforsummer

I understand that but the experiences of a 45 year old man pre 2022 on this subject is highly likely to be different to that of one on 2067 when it comes to old nearly work out insulting phrases

No, I dont.
Years ago there may have been lots of name calling but there are so many different and, to some people seemingly unusual names that young people seem more open to names.
So.e of the names of the young people I work with include Talon, Charles, Gideon, Chardonnay, a Amos, and so on. These are the less ' out there ' names ( Charles is unusual where I live, most kids are called Charlie)

As for the name Jesse, my son's friend is called this. I met him 15 years ago when he was a small kid. He is 22 now and everyone adores him. I have never known anyone to mock his name.

Newuser82 · 13/01/2022 15:31

Jesse is a gorgeous name! Go for it

livinthedream1995 · 13/01/2022 15:35

I had my youngest last month and we settled on Jesse for his middle name ☺️ I (obviously) like it!

Giggorata · 13/01/2022 15:40

I really like it but in the past, have heard it used as a homophobic insult for supposedly effeminate boys.
I'd hope it has died the death it should have by now.

PattyPan · 13/01/2022 16:01

It’s ok. For some reason it’s always made me picture a blond Californian surfer dude type! Jesse Robert?

Gorgeous name, I love it.

AtillatheHun · 13/01/2022 16:19

I have a super cool cousin Jesse. He rocks it well, it’s a name for a confident and cool person and he wears it. Love it therefore by association.
