Yay or nay

Name needs to be short to go with long surname

It's nice. Popular but nothing wrong with that.

Luredbyapomegranate · 03/01/2022 19:03

Nay. It’s better than Lily but I think all those names a bit flipping wet.

Anything else you like?? How bout Lois, Ffion, Stella, Robin, Esther, Cleo, Jocelyn, Ines, Frances, Catrin, Caitlin, Carys….

PoodleKaboodle · 03/01/2022 19:03

Perfectly pleasant- for a baby cow.

HeadlessGummyBears · 03/01/2022 19:04

It’s lovely.

Eileen101 · 03/01/2022 19:04

I like it. Or I did, until that stupid advert "daisy daisy daisy daisy" ad infinitum

MumOfJayJoeAndEms · 03/01/2022 19:09

Maisie
Gracie
Cassie
Jessie
Hattie
Posy
Rosie
Stevie

Not a fan of Daisy... sorry

SummaLuvin · 03/01/2022 19:11

I find Daisy quite a bland, wet name.

YEN1 · 03/01/2022 19:15

I love it, it’s my 12 year old DD’s so maybe biased. It was actually picked by my now 16 year old DD.

Oldusernewname1 · 03/01/2022 19:32

Others i like
Estha, sienna, isabella, jessica, etta, everly, emily

I really like all the others on your list from Sienna onwards. I think Daisy sounds a bit weak, sorry. The others are all strong sounding names.

Oldusernewname1 · 03/01/2022 19:40

Thanks
Its just that surname is really strong long Irish name so could be a bit of a mouthful

I love Daisy - beatiful

TyrannosaurusRegina · 03/01/2022 19:52

Beautiful name.

ISmellBurnings · 03/01/2022 19:56

It’s just too twee, like Maisie.

I like Jessica and Jess as a nickname. It’s not as popular.

PAFMO · 03/01/2022 19:58

@Oldusernewname1

Others i like Estha, sienna, isabella, jessica, etta, everly, emily
Is Estha different to Esther or Ester? - it's a lovely name, but the child will have to spell it their whole life to other people who will use the usual variations.

Sienna is dreadful. It's not even the city which is Siena.

Isabella is lovely. Classy and elegant but very very popular. Unlikely to be the only one in her class.

Jessica- there are gazillions of them now in their 20s and 30s.

Etta- don't like, sounds harsh and like a very old woman.

Everly- don't like surnames used as names and it sounds like it would be a boy.

Emily- not bad, but again, very very popular for decades now. I prefer Emma.

Daisy or Isabella from your list to me.

Oldusernewname1 · 03/01/2022 20:19

Im not into nicknames tbh

@PAFMO well what names do you like lol
Any suggestions

I love the name Daisy. Nearly called my dd that but I'd picked Daisy because it went with ex's surname and he left me before she was born.

ISmellBurnings · 03/01/2022 20:29

Your child may end up with a nickname from their friends, which you won’t have any choice about.

I don’t like Sienna, there’s something pretentious about it and I don’t know why, it’s also really common.

MrsToadflax · 03/01/2022 20:40

I like Daisy for a little girl, but not keen for a grown woman. If you want short, maybe Erin, Rose, Sylvie or Sybil.

BrutusMcDogface · 03/01/2022 20:43

Daisy is a pretty name. I like it much more than most of the others on your list Smile

Hopitihop · 03/01/2022 21:27

Nay...

It's just about ok for a 3 year old but not for an adult.

I only know a dog called Daisy and Donald's duck cute friend :)

Out of your list I like none really... I love Esther but not Estha, sounds a bit made up.

Good luck!

Oldusernewname1 · 03/01/2022 21:40

Ok maybe i need to re look at my list 😭
Oh likes chloe & lily but i vetoed that
Aghhhhhh….
