Yay or nay

Name needs to be short to go with long surname

If you need short and like the "ee" sound ending how about Amy?
Not a fan of Daisy personally.

Alonelonelylonersbadidea · 03/01/2022 23:17

Iris?

It's strong and suits both a girl and a woman imo.

Joolsin · 03/01/2022 23:51

I love it, my DD27's name and she suits it/it suits her very well. I haven't met any others her age, a few teenagers, a few young girls. I still think it's an excellent name

Thefaceofboe · 04/01/2022 06:33

I love Daisy, and Etta is also lovely and a bit more unusual Smile

Billandben444 · 04/01/2022 06:45

It's a sweet name for a little girl but can't really see it for a professional adult, sorry.

Mommabear20 · 04/01/2022 06:46

OP, I'm not a fan of any of the names on your list but don't change them for other peoples reasons! None of them are exactly awful or would cause your baby to be bullied so go with what you like!

SirSidneyRuffDiamond · 04/01/2022 10:16

I really like Daisy and find it much less twee than Poppy, Molly, Polly. Daisy's are pretty flowers, but very robust. I see it as a grown up name as I had an elderly relative (she would be 112 if she were alive now) with that name - she was a feisty female doctor when they were a rarity.

strawberrymilk7 · 04/01/2022 10:29

I think it's lovely. It would be on my list bar our surname ends with y and it just doesn't sound right.

Oldusernewname1 · 04/01/2022 11:04

Another one i like I forgot to add is Elsie

Love Daisy, know a couple and always get compliments on their names

Phyllis321 · 04/01/2022 21:25

Daisy was traditionally the nn for Margaret/Marguerite.

Margo?
Margaux?

Philandbill · 04/01/2022 22:11

Daisy is lovely..

Notarall · 04/01/2022 22:11

It's pretty 😍

Notarall · 04/01/2022 22:12

@Alonelonelylonersbadidea

Iris?

It's strong and suits both a girl and a woman imo.

Love LOVE Iris 💕
rocketfairy · 04/01/2022 23:44

I'm a Daisy in my 30s with a professional job and often get compliments on my name. Perhaps the 'D' sound and the straightforward spelling help dampen the tweeness compared to Maisie etc. I'm a headstrong person and I get taken seriously with this name and do love my name :)

wingsofabird · 05/01/2022 13:16

Love the name Daisy one of my favourites

Iamanicepersonreally · 05/01/2022 13:20

I also think it's a bit wet. I absolutely love Etta. It's a good, strong name and not too popular

sunflowerroses · 05/01/2022 13:21

I like daisy and Isabella from your list and love Emily.

FASDE1517 · 05/01/2022 13:22

Etta is by far my favourite on your list. Gorgeous name and not overused

HunterGatherer · 05/01/2022 19:39

In my head Daisy is cool like Jay-Zee, it's not 'wet' at all.

Luredbyapomegranate · 06/01/2022 08:17

@Oldusernewname1

Others i like Estha, sienna, isabella, jessica, etta, everly, emily
I like Esther if you spell it properly

Also Jessica

Emily and Isabella are nice but way overused

Sienna I think it is bit naff and will date very fast, same for Etta. Everly just is not a name.

GU24Mum · 06/01/2022 08:28

I prefer it to some of the other flower names (not a fan of Lily). There were quite a few called Poppy, Daisy or Lily a few years ago (they're typically about 16-19 now) but there don't seem to be so many now. My younger DD doesn't have any in her class.
