Opinions on Aurora and which middle name goes best
Aurora…
Grace
Eve
Faye
Belle
I was thinking a short middle name would go best but I think Isabella could go well too

What if your daughter doesn’t want to be a Disney Princess?

mumofEandE · 01/01/2022 23:05

Aurora Belle May be overdoing the Disney Princess theme!

imnotacelebritygetmeoutofhere · 01/01/2022 23:06

Aurora Grace sounds lovely.
Aurora Isabella would only work if you have a short surname, otherwise perhaps too long.

Pigtree · 01/01/2022 23:07

She can be whatever she wants to, I like the name for the sound of it not the connections to a Disney princess. I forgot about Belle though, that may be. a little too princessy 😂

Do not like Aurora at all .... a grace is the best from your list

OneLlamaOpenSleigh · 01/01/2022 23:09

Not Aurora Eve - that sounds like a tourist attraction in the Arctic Circle

toastofthetown · 01/01/2022 23:10

Of those Aurora Faye. Grace is the beige of the middle name world, and Aurora Belle is too Disney Princess for my taste.

I don’t think Aurora needs a short middle name, but Aurora Isabella is a mouthful to me. I’d avoid a middle name starting with a vowel, as Aurora is so vowel heavy, you really need something to break it up.

DramaAlpaca · 01/01/2022 23:13

Missing the point, but whenever Aurora is mentioned, someone always comes on and suggests Rory as a diminutive, which completely baffles me as it's such a strong male name meaning 'red king'. Anyway, I digress...

As to the name, it's certainly very pretty but too frilly and princessy for my taste. Aurora Isabella is too much. I think something short and unfussy is better, like Faye or Joy or Kate.

IamEarthymama · 01/01/2022 23:17

I know a one year old Aurora nn Rory and I think it is a wonderful name!

I like Aurora with Jane as a middle name.
Or Aurora Frances.

SuckItup22 · 01/01/2022 23:19

My Aurora is 15.

We call her Rorie mostly.

It wasn't very popular 15 years ago, it's much more now I think. Obviously I love it and it suits her.

She's never been into princesses and is quite the Tomboy. I didn't associate it with Disney and have never really got the Disney comments in real life, only see them on mumsnet.

SuckItup22 · 01/01/2022 23:20

Her full name is Aurora Jovie.

Synchrony · 02/01/2022 00:11

Faye.
Grace is too commonly used, Eve doesn't flow and Belle is too Princess!

M0rT · 02/01/2022 00:15

Of your options Aurora Faye, I am going to suggest Aurora June. Just love the sound of it.

Luredbyapomegranate · 02/01/2022 02:42

I like it. But the Disney associations might put me off. I’d avoid the one syllable cliche - even if you don’t go for Grace/May/Rose, the effect is the same. Aurora Isabella is far too flouncy IMO

I’d go for something simple, classic and elegant (Katherine, Frances, Beatrice), or modern and unfrilly/slightly unisex (Robin, Lois, Jocelyn)

coraka · 02/01/2022 05:07

I like Aurora. I don't think any of the suggested middle names really "go" that well with it though. I think it would sound good without a middle name.

coraka · 02/01/2022 05:18

The challenge is to find a name that is pretty and strong enough to stand up to Aurora, but not so much that it competes with it by or makes it into a mouthful.

Aurora Beth
Aurora Louise
Aurora Elizabeth
Aurora Marie
Aurora Thea
Aurora Natalie
Aurora Eleanor

musicalfrog · 02/01/2022 06:09

I find it an awkward name to say out loud. But I do like hearing it said in a Scottish accent. 🤷🏻‍♀️

PlainJane1000 · 02/01/2022 06:13

Aurora Faye is the nicest. Other suggestions:
Aurora Clare
Aurora Kate
Aurora Catherine
Aurora Ivy
Aurora Juno
Aurora Maeve

DotDotDotDotDot · 02/01/2022 08:40

Aurora Zoë
Aurora Ines
Aurora Maeve
Aurora Iris

Queenoftheashes · 02/01/2022 08:49

The middle name needs to start with a consonant surely. Aurora is already a bit of a mouthful of ahs and ars. I’d prob go with Aurora Grace.

NearlyAHoarder · 02/01/2022 08:52

That name is quite hard to say!

I'm imagining an English person saying it and struggling to get behind the Rs.

And even in an Irish or American accent, all those Rs sound like hard work. You'd have to change gear before you called out that name. Every time.

dingdongmerrilyy · 02/01/2022 08:54

Aurora grace

DukkaTheHallsWithBoughsOfHolly · 02/01/2022 09:44

Grace is overused as it’s the default middle name for girls.

Kate
Joy
Clare
Marie
Elizabeth
Elise

AlwaysLatte · 02/01/2022 09:49

It's nice, hopefully she can say her 'r's!

CaMePlaitPas · 02/01/2022 09:55

Aurora Bora
