Which should we go for and why? Aidan or Isaac.
DS is three weeks old and I can’t decide which suits better.

Definitely Isaac - fab name.

Yika · 27/12/2021 21:01

They are both lovely so in my view you could just pick one out of a hat and be fine.

My personal choice would be Aidan of those two. I like it because of the meaning, the Celtic background, and the fact that it's a bit more unusual.

Isaac
It was on our list and I still like it 15 years on.

golddustwomen · 27/12/2021 21:15

Love Isaac.

Amammai · 27/12/2021 21:18

Both lovely choices but I would go for isaac

JustWonderingIfYou · 27/12/2021 21:19

Aidan is great... if you've given birth to a 40 year old man.

CherryRedDMs · 27/12/2021 21:21

Isaac

Catch32 · 27/12/2021 21:21

I love Aidan, it's a little more unusual

CantStartaFireWithoutaSpark · 27/12/2021 21:21

@JustWonderingIfYou Grin I laughed out loud.

PanicBuyingSprouts · 27/12/2021 21:23

I much prefer Aidan.

Nichola2310 · 27/12/2021 21:24

I would go with Aidan

MondeoFan · 27/12/2021 21:25

Totalwasteofpaper · 27/12/2021 21:29

Aidan all day every day

solania · 27/12/2021 21:34

Aidan is lovely! A beautiful Celtic saint's name. Isaac also lovely but Aidan is more unusual right now.

Ignore the 40 yr old man comment - I get that about my son's (completely normal, common as anything) name, but I just let it wash over me!

HoliHormonalTigerlilly · 27/12/2021 21:41

Isaac.
I prefer Aaron to Aidan.

Luredbyapomegranate · 27/12/2021 21:45

Issac
Mainly because Aidan is on the rise so I think Issac will be more unusual for a baby born now, it’s also a slightly more classic option (assuming you in England) as it’s been in popular use for centuries so it won’t date, whereas Aidan will a bit.

WeasilyPleased · 27/12/2021 22:37

I loved Isaac until someone pointed out the I suck thing. Sorry OP. Also, you'll get a lot of people writing Issac which would get on my pips.

YouCantTourniquetTheTaint · 27/12/2021 22:42

Isaac for sure, there can't be many Isaacs around, can there? As a kid I was usually the only person in my year at school with my first name, so there wasn't for example Katy 1, Katie with the e, Katie 2.

As a MN said above I too think Aaron over Aidan.

SprogletsMum · 27/12/2021 22:44

There's loads of Isaacs around. I have an Aidan and an Isaac.
Both will get spelt wrong all the time. Obviously I'm biased but I think they're both lovely names.

Grizzlydog · 27/12/2021 22:45

Aidan

SundayTeatime · 27/12/2021 22:57
