I've taught a few of each and Miriams tend to be very quiet- wouldn't say boo to a goose. Elijahs tend to be quite high-profile behaviourally. I've been put off both names as a result. I like Marian.

Miriam and Moses would be my choices. If popularity is a concern then other than Moses and Abraham all of the boy names you have suggested are shooting up. I like both Mary and Miriam but the boy's names aren't ones I'm keen on -too long andd a bit whiny
