For a girl: Mary or Miriam?

For a boy: Isaiah, Elijah, Elias, or Abraham?

Mary and Elijah

Mary as I find Miriam a bit wet.
Abraham because I know an Abe who's really nice.

Miriam and Isaiah

Miriam 100% over Mary.

Elijah or Elias. I think people will generally be more familiar with Elijah and how to pronounce it if that sort of thing will bother you.

I like both Mary and Miriam a lot, but for me Miriam just squeaks ahead.

Mary and Abraham - the nn's May and Bram are pretty cool and more modern sounding, so a nice contrast/option with the traditional, vintage full names. Elias would be my second pick but I do prefer the European "Eh -lee- as" pronunciation.

I like Miriam too, but not the other boys' names.

Mary is such a lovely girls name, absolutely love it. The one I know is a little powerhouse who recently went to a fancy dress party as Sherlock Holmes aged 8. Adore her.

Elijah for a boy. Prefer Mariam to Mary or Miriam, but Mary over Miriam.

I like both Miriam and Mary for different reasons. Miriam does have a bit more traditional/easy/obvious nickname potential (Mir, Miri, Mimi, Mim, Mimsy, etc.) while Mary kind of is just itself, so that may influence your decision either way.

Elias is one of my favourite boy names. But all of your choices are solid and good, IMO.

The only ones I really don’t like are the ones that will inevitably be shortened to Eli - it’s just a whine! Hate this name.
