It's on our list!

IJustPeedInTheMaintenanceBay · 27/10/2021 21:44

Gorgeous name. I also happen to know an absolutely wonderful grown up Cora

idontlikealdi · 27/10/2021 21:54

Love it!

VioletBlanche · 27/10/2021 21:58

I also love it

StrawberryFizz26 · 27/10/2021 21:58

Love it!

BeKindBeYou · 27/10/2021 22:00

Such a lovely name!!!!

toastofthetown · 27/10/2021 22:02

It feels very current to me. It seems to have stalled at around #150 in England and Wales, though I still see it frequently on name forums. I think it's fine as a name. Not one of my favourites, but not a bad choice.

Skylarky · 27/10/2021 22:15

I love the name, was slightly put off as I have a bad association of an older adult I know of. I do love it though aside from that one niggle.

I like it though I actually prefer Thora.

I really like it. Pretty but not frilly.

whenwillthemadnessend · 28/10/2021 07:51

Lovely

RuthW · 28/10/2021 07:54

Lovely

JudgementalCactus · 28/10/2021 07:56

It's simple and works great at any age. No one will mispronounce it or misspell it. I don't think it's too popular either.

I would definitely use it!

SummaLuvin · 28/10/2021 08:58

I don't get the obsession with the name on MN, I'm not at all surprised to see an overwhelmingly positive response here, but I find the name sonically unpleasant and coarse.

AllTheUsernamesAreAlreadyTaken · 28/10/2021 09:00

I love it.

Spidey66 · 28/10/2021 09:15

Lovely name. Easy to spell and pronounce. Common enough not to be thought of as trying to hard to be different but likely not to be one of 4 in her class.

Skylarky · 28/10/2021 09:35

I'm really pleased as I love it too. Not everyone will love every name that's a given but I like that it's not popular. I know of only the one adult Cora that I mentioned so also like that it's not popular. Does anyone know where it is on the new stats? Has it gone up? Can't seem to access it

It’s not in the top 100 for 2021 so it’s still uncommon :)

Here’s the recent popularity for Cora. As I said earlier it’s risen quickly but seems to have stalled around #150 in the charts. I believe (but I didn’t watch so could be wrong) that there was a Cora in Downton Abbey, which might be part of the reason it rose so quickly. names.darkgreener.com/#cora

Thank you both! My mother suggested Cora as she heard it on Downton so you may be right there ☺️

As others have pointed out, not top 100. However, it has been rising quite sharply, it looks like it might be coming to a plateau, but I wouldn't be confident enough that it has reached it's peak to use a name with that trend - until a name has peaked you can never be sure of how high it will go. However, different people have different attitudes towards popularity.

I like it a lot.
Short, cute for a kid. Cool for a teenager. Great for an adult.
No problems with pronunciation and not overly popular.
I would go for it
