In DHs family, his Dad and brother have the same name, and SIL husband and both sons have the same initial!

Newchances · 13/10/2021 19:35

@Coffeey

Part of me wishes they'd put another middle name in there so here initials were ROSE.
I also thought this lol
DogBirthday · 13/10/2021 19:35

@FabacrombieAndBitch

R.Swash sounds terrible though
Oh gosh. I see what you mean. I wonder if they noticed. Grin
Pumpkinstace · 13/10/2021 19:39

I cocked up and have my two DD names with the same initial... and middle madness with the same initial too!

They are both 'Miss CE Surname'

Theraindropss · 13/10/2021 19:41

@thewhatsit

It doesn’t matter that the middle names don’t flow. Rose is a nice, normal name. I like it. Rose Solomon-Swash.

I’ve seen a few PP saying that her name is just Rose Swash.. but it’s a double barrelled surname isn’t it? Is it just coincidence that it’s the mother’s surname that people are dropping from the 2??

Exactly. R Swash is not her name. Why are people discounting her mother’s name???

Rose is beautiful and classic. Just lovely.

Pumpkinstace · 13/10/2021 19:42

Middle madness?

I meant middle names but it is madness!

ShuddaBeenMe · 13/10/2021 19:47

Rex and Rose.

The R Swashes. Shock

UsernameIsHarderThanBabyName · 14/10/2021 06:58

Love all 3 of those names ❤️

35andThriving · 14/10/2021 09:39

Rose is a great name.

Rose Solomon-Swash, lovely Smile

TurnUpTurnip · 14/10/2021 12:33

I liked it until people pointed out R. Swash🙁 people say why drop the surname but people irl do sometimes (speaking from bitter experience with my ex and my name double barrelled)

millzcrawf · 14/10/2021 12:58

I like it. It's a lot but I think rose is pretty..

However, personally I would have perhaps named her Esmé Rose Opal ..

Flashinggreen · 15/10/2021 13:38

@Piggy42

I think it’s a pretty name. Agree with a pp though, I think she put the wrong accent on Esme when she typed it (I don’t know how to do accents on a phone!)
But on loose women they had it on the screen the same and I would’ve thought they’d check with her. Otherwise I think Rose is really pretty. I have a lot of respect for Stacey I think she works really hard and deserves all the good things she gets.
MiaMarshmallows · 15/10/2021 13:43

Rose is nice. As is Esme for a middle name, not sure about Opal.
I used to know a family where 3 out of the 5 of them all had the same initials. They were forever opening each others post.

Bluntness100 · 15/10/2021 13:46

She’s rose Solomon- Swash, it’s a lovely name and her surname is hyphenated.

No clue how the pp thinks she’s named after Sophie hinchfliffe.

Were ghe names hyphenated? Very odd to split them. When they are.
MrsMiddleMother · 15/10/2021 16:11

@redsky21 @HadEnoughOfBears Mrs Hinch's middle name is Rose

Bluntness100 · 15/10/2021 16:31
**@redsky21* @HadEnoughOfBears* Mrs Hinch's middle name is Rose
Christ you’d need to be a real fan to know that. I would not consider someone naming their child my middle name as naming after me. What an odd thought.

Onlinedilema · 15/10/2021 19:37

Rose Soloman-Swash is perfectly fine.
I'm glad she has her mother's surname as well as her fathers.
I don't understand unmarried women forgive their child their name.
You are very very likely to split from the father, meet someone else and have a kid with him. Then you don't have the same name as your own child, the child you will 9 times out of 10 he raising archiving be close to their father. So yeah I'm pleased Stacey has seen sense.

Onlinedilema · 15/10/2021 19:38

Auto correct arrrrrgh!
Forgive=not giving.

namechangedaily · 06/11/2021 10:01

@CiaoForDiNiaoSaur

I’ll never understand why women just give away the right for the babytheygrew and birthed

What rights are given away by not giving baby your surname? My DC have their dads name. It has genuinely never been an issue.

My children have just their father's surname too. I have my biological fathers surname but I haven't seen him since I was 3 after he left my mum. So my surname to me has only negative associations and no family connection. I don't think he deserves to have his name carried on through my children xx
HBomberGal · 06/11/2021 15:17

Solomon-Swash is horrible imo but Rose is nice. Maybe there's one too many middle names but I don't think that matters too much.

Plump82 · 06/11/2021 15:35

I was a bit too invested in the naming of her baby.
The reason they chose Opal is because its their birth stone. She was born on Staceys birthday and she admitted they added Esme so that her initials did spell out Rose (in a round about way)

WeasilyPleased · 06/11/2021 23:05

I couldn't wait to get rid of my maiden name. It was hideous. Arse wash isnt good though I think Rex and Rose are fine and Opal is lovely.
