We have a 4.5 year old Imogen, her sister was born 4 weeks ago - If she was a boy she would have been Hugo or Rowan.

I don't think it really matters if something "goes". What does that mean anyway? Fwiw I was at school with an Imogen whose brother was called Lewis.

I really like Luca - do you think Luca Oliver goes? We are thinking as that as middle name. I like Zachary (Zach) but OH not keen.

I'm so stuck 😂😂😂

My friend has 2 sons Luca and Oliver and a daughter Freya they go really nicely together!

LakeShoreD · 06/10/2021 16:18

If baby is 2 weeks old I take it you’ve been thinking about it for a good long while and still can’t find anything you like more than Luca. So stop searching and go with Luca! It’s a lovely name. And Luca Oliver is fine- the full name is so rarely said anyway, the only way you can get it wrong is if the initials spell something rude!

Paddingtonsmarmlade · 06/10/2021 16:21

Luca is lovely and goes well with Imogen.

xem87 · 06/10/2021 16:48

On our list is

Luca
Zachary (zach)
Archie

Anyone suggest any other middle names with Luca? I just don't understand why I'm not feeling the same as I did when we chose Imogen 😂 was so easy ha think maybe just over thought it xx

Luca goes with pretty much everything. Luca Oliver sounds good to me. As for middle names I'm due a boy in January and he will be Lucas Owen so perhaps that's a good alternative to Oliver as a middle name for you.

Other names
Theodore/Theo/Teddy
Ethan
Freddie
Jack
William
Charlie
Harvey

LorenzoVonMatterhorn · 06/10/2021 17:44

Oh wow, just wanted to let you know you are not alone…
My son is now six weeks old and we still have not officially decided on the name, although after A LOT of deliberation between Luca and Leo, I think we are going to go with Luca too!! It’s been really difficult because, like you, I just don’t feel as strongly about it as I did with my daughters name but it’s the best I’ve found (so far…!). We also considered Alexander and Mateo.

Just to give you some comfort, we tried out a couple of names when we got home from the hospital and after a few days of calling him either name it felt like he really did become whichever name was on deck that week. So I think my husband is right in saying he will become whichever name we pick and it’s not the other way round.

Good luck. Let us know what you decide, I know it’s really hard when you are not 100% sure, but I think we just have to commit and it will work out!

CoffeeRunner · 06/10/2021 21:00

The only Luca's I know all have James as a middle name (I only know 3).

Pretty much any name would go with Imogen I think.

xem87 · 06/10/2021 21:10

Thank you all so glad I did this post!
@DDSMUM2
When we chose Imogen it was so easy! Luca was first one we both agreed on. I like Greek / Italian background and meaning of name. OH liked Hugo but I don't really. I like zach and Archie but I just don't know! We have had days calling him all the names 😂 I just want to feel like I did about Imogen. What middle name are you going for? I have then thought Archie Luca or Zachary Luca (Zach). I just want to give him a name! So many people keep asking but then I don't want to pick and regret 😂 I really just don't know haha xxx

@xem87 we loved Oliver but we ended up going with Hudson in the end. Not hugely common but easy to spell and pronounce 🥰
