opinions on the name Cindy for a little baby girl.. 🤍

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Beyondword · 05/10/2021 19:34

I'm sorry, I don't like it.
I think it sounds very dated.

millzcrawf · 05/10/2021 19:36

@Beyondword that's the slight worry I had, I personally don't know any Cindy's so this is why I wasn't sure. But thank you!

I really like it, but it feels like a bit of a guilty pleasure! I’ve got a friend called Cindy, she is ace. But she’s not keen on her name. I think it’s cool though. I’d like to be called Cindy.

Comedycook · 05/10/2021 19:39

It's actually a gorgeous name...I really like it. It does sound a bit dated but I wouldn't let that put you off.

Rysimo · 05/10/2021 19:40

I absolutely love it and it's my no1 choice for a baby girl. I have three boys, still waiting for my Cindy. Absolutely do it and enjoy her.

TheWashingMachine · 05/10/2021 19:41

Ghastly and bad connotations with Cinderella.

seaandsandcastles · 05/10/2021 19:42

I love it! Reminds me of the Sindy doll though…

DoodleBelle · 05/10/2021 19:44

How about Lucinda nn Cindy?

DotDotDotDotDot · 05/10/2021 19:48

I know a Jacinta who has the nn Cindy and she’s amazing. I’m not sure as a name on its own to be honest. Good luck.

BubbleCoffee · 05/10/2021 19:50

I like it as nickname for Lucinda.

Aquamarine1029 · 05/10/2021 19:50

No, too dated.

Blondiney · 05/10/2021 19:50

Crawford.

Blubells · 05/10/2021 19:51

I like it.

Short for Cynthia

AnyaMoondial · 05/10/2021 19:51

I really like it. But nn for Lucinda is even better.

Suchalicklepumpkin · 05/10/2021 19:51

No for me, as I thought immediately of Cinders or Cindy Lou Who (TheGrinch)

Comedycook · 05/10/2021 19:53

@BubbleCoffee

I like it as nickname for Lucinda.
Oh this is a good idea
donquixotedelamancha · 05/10/2021 19:53

I would not go with Cindy. Barbie, LOL or Bratz might be nicer alternatives along the same theme.

AdaColeman · 05/10/2021 19:54

Sweet as a nn for Lucinda when they are little.

StarryStarrySocks · 05/10/2021 20:01

I think it's lovely. But I agree about using Lucinda or Jacinda as the full name with Cindy as a nickname.

TatianaBis · 05/10/2021 22:09

Super dated American.

Straighttalking1 · 06/10/2021 03:56

It's a doll isn't it ?

LaBellina · 06/10/2021 04:01

America & the 1980’s springs to mind.

SeanChailleach · 06/10/2021 06:52

Hungarian. Might be why it's seen as American.

tuxedocat · 06/10/2021 07:42

I don’t mind it but the first thing that came
To my head was ‘cindy, the tv’s leaking’ from scary movie 😂

Sprogonthetyne · 06/10/2021 07:46

Sorry, I'm not keen. To me it will always be associated with the disappointment of getting the cheaper alternative to barbie for Christmas.
