Sapphire, I think its a bit less usual!

Ginger1982 · 04/10/2021 23:32

Not a particular fan of either but if I had to pick it would be Jade. Sapphire sounds like a stripper name.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 04/10/2021 23:35

Sapphire

Aquamarine1029 · 04/10/2021 23:36

I know a Jade. Lovely woman, lovely name. I do not like Sapphire for a name.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 05/10/2021 00:33

I prefer the sound of Sapphire. However being blunt it probably wouldn't suit someone working class (I'm very working class myself so Its not an insult)
Jade is okay. It's not a particularly nice or a horrible name, IMO.

Therefore if you're working class go with Jade. If you're middle to upper class go with Sapphire.

LaBellina · 05/10/2021 00:37

Green is my favorite color so I would choose Jade Grin. I also think Sapphire is a bit OTT.

Aspiringmatriarch · 05/10/2021 00:39

Sapphire. Very pretty.

Wtf,why has my post been hidden?Confused

urbanbuddha · 05/10/2021 00:42

If you want a jewel name I like Emerald.

GreenClock · 05/10/2021 00:56

Martin Lewis’ daughter is Sapphire I think. Lovely name!

Jade seems a bit dated now but it’s nice.

Lockdownbear · 05/10/2021 01:02

Jade, Sapphire seems a bit OTT or will get shortened to Saph, or something.

sprinkleyumnut · 05/10/2021 01:08

Jade. My cat is called Sapphire so see it as a pet name

MmNc01 · 05/10/2021 01:10

They both sound like porn star names, sorry.

Kanaloa · 05/10/2021 01:10

Sapphire, I think it’s nicer. Possibly because I went to school with lots of Jades so Jade seems like the name of a mum rather than a baby now!

LaBellina · 05/10/2021 01:31

If you like gemstone names, OP, Esmeralda means emerald in Spanish. Giada is the Italian version of Jade.

Mixitupalot · 05/10/2021 04:23

Please do use sapphire. It’s my name and you get everyone assuming I am thick as pig shit and dance around a pole for a living!

Theoldwoman · 05/10/2021 06:14

Jade, just because it's nicer on all ages. At over 50, I wouldn't like to be called Sapphire.

ChipsNCurry · 05/10/2021 06:31

Prefer jade.

Really like emerald too.

Therunecaster · 05/10/2021 06:42

Jade gets my vote

honeygriff · 05/10/2021 07:00

I like Sapphire Star

trama · 05/10/2021 07:01

Sapphire!

MondeoFan · 05/10/2021 07:01

How about Sapphire nn Saffy

Chachachawoo · 05/10/2021 07:04

I find Jade a bit dated. Sapphire sounds very stage namey (not in a good way).
Emerald makes me think of mould...
I love Ruby or Pearl as names.

Aspiringmatriarch · 05/10/2021 07:10

Agree MondeoFan a nickname like Saffy is really nice and doesn't sound too OTT which I think Sapphire has the potential to be.
