Which name would you choose?

Last thread about girl's names, I promise!

We want a biblical first name. Middle names have family links but chosen more so because we think they're pretty! So which name would you choose from our three final girl names?

Lydia Violet
Miriam Iris
Magdalena Joy

Definitely Lydia Violet, lovely name. Not a fan of Miriam or Magdalena personally.

Miriam Iris is a beautiful, classic name.

Magdalena reminds me of the laundries, Lydia is teapot/chlamydia.

Ha ha I don't live in the UK so the plays on the name Lydia won't be a problem here Grin

Also, the Magdalene laundries not an issue here as nobody has heard of it.

Thank you for your thoughts everyone! Which middle name do you like best with the first name you like? Do you like the first and middles together, or would you mix them up into a different combination?

Wasn't Lydia a seller of purple cloth in the Bible? That would make the name Lydia Violet particularly apt!

I'd think about her intitials and also what her friends might shorten her first name to. One of our DCs had a beautiful name which got shortened to something really harsh and ugly that we'd never thought of.

Miriam Iris. Beautiful. I also love Lydia but not at all keen on Violet. Lydia Iris and Lydia Joy are nice.

Not keen on Magdalena. It's also quite popular where I live (also not in UK) and I've never warmed to it.
