It is. But very very popular

Maui69 · 18/09/2021 17:48

I prefer Theodore!

toadstool32 · 18/09/2021 17:50

Popularity doesn't bother me! My dds are both top 40.

I like it

orangejuicer · 18/09/2021 17:51

It is great on its own Grin

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 18/09/2021 17:52

I like it

dontforgettofloss · 18/09/2021 18:01

Lovely name, but I am biased as I have a Theo!
I hadn't considered the name when I was pregnant, but when he was born, Theo just suited him.

Roselilly36 · 18/09/2021 18:31

One of my favourite boys names, I love Theo, and prefer it too Theodore. Great choice.

Purplecatshopaholic · 18/09/2021 18:38

Great name - love it

Same here!

Overused

tinytoucan · 18/09/2021 21:48

It’s lovely. It is popular as others have said, but I wouldn’t say overused.

idontlikealdi · 18/09/2021 21:54

I love it.

Purplesparkle34 · 18/09/2021 22:22

Nice name but very popular.

DramaAlpaca · 18/09/2021 22:25

It's not my cup of tea at all, but Theo is fine as a standalone name.

IamJuliaJohnson · 18/09/2021 22:41

I like that Theodore means ‘God’s gift). Theo on its own is fine but technically just means God.

PaolaDiLorenzo · 18/09/2021 22:44

I really like it and I prefer it to Theodore.

FurzeMinister · 18/09/2021 22:55

I'd use Theo as a short form of Theodore, Theodor, etc. not as a stand-alone name.

Littlefish · 18/09/2021 22:57

Love it.

DoucheCanoe · 18/09/2021 23:00

I know a few and like it.

Not keen on Theodore. Lots of shortened versions being used as stand a lone names now so it'll seem "normal" by the time this generation grows up any way.

Kite22 · 18/09/2021 23:08

I like it

TatianaBis · 19/09/2021 00:37

Fine but there are so many of them

manhattenrain · 19/09/2021 00:45

Not a fan of Theo but it's definitely nicer than Theodore.

Beebababadabo · 19/09/2021 00:51

If you call them Theo but could Theodore just on the birth certificate then it gives them the option to call themselves Ted, Theo, or Theodore. I like the meaning of Theodore but agree prefer Theo.

PoolNooodle · 19/09/2021 01:00

I never get when people say to put the longer name on the BC it literally makes no sense as when they go to school etc they will be officially known as Theodore which is not what the op wants, why do people suggest that? It’s really odd especially considering she said she hates Theodore she’s not going to “just put it on the BC” as if that’s a small thing?! It means that that is his official name and all letters would be in the name Theodore and that’s what she will have to call him to anywhere official. Theo is fine on its own, not my cup of tea but it’s fine as it is.
