Another baby name one from me! Resounding majority of ppl like Sophia for isabelles new sister! However I can't get away from loving the name Isla!
Would it be awful to name siblings Isla and isabelle? For reference isabelle is known mostly as Izzy day to day!

Well this is awkward 😂

If it helps, my girls are now 17 & 14, and no one has ever commented that their names are similar, nor got them mixed up. Ones known as Izzy, Isla is shortened to I.

I know of girl who has twins: Rian and Cian, funny thing is if anyone asked here I would say it’s a definite NO - way too similar etc. I’d say 99% of people on this forum would say NO. However I’ve only realised that now, didn’t cross my mind even for a moment that it’s strange and the boys are 3 now. So that goes to show- once babies are born and are given a name, we just accept it and that is it. It’s best to give baby the name you want without asking anybody.

I’ve an Isobel and an Orla. Wouldn’t bat an eyelid at an Isobel/Isabelle and Isla!

They are all such over-used names. The world does not need any more Sophias, Isabelles and Islas.

Elisemum · 20/09/2021 23:56

Lol @EishetChayil what a comment… I think the world has better things to worry about :) made me laugh!, some people … 🙈 I’m sure the world can take one more Isabelle or Isla

Imogen and Isabelle would work, because Imogen and Izzy aren't too similar. You could even call Imogen Jenny.

Too close, sorry.

Sophia is lovely though
