Mine would have been Isambard and Isis !

It’s just as well that you get 6 weeks to register a bi try h.

Tabitha - still absolutely would
Topaz - maybe not
Silas - still love this

Love the story about baby Cherry Blossom!

Hector or Norrie for a boy.

Fluella for a girl.

Which I still don’t think are that out there.

OlafLovesAnna · 30/08/2021 22:44

My middle one was almost Murdo. I still kind of like it but DH refused to even consider it. He was very nearly Fergus but it just didn't suit him when he was born.

MistandMud · 30/08/2021 22:53

Calypso
Ludovic

Let’s just say that their actual names wouldn’t have raised an eyebrow fit the past few centuries.

propertealady · 30/08/2021 22:55

Apollo and Hercules. We have no Greek connection whatsoever
Firstborn ended up with our No1 choice name which is very normal, top ten. But if I'd have decided it didn't suit him I had NO OTHER names I liked apart from Apollo. The midwife was horrified when I told her my choices were "George" or Apollo 😂😂

TigersandTeddybears · 30/08/2021 23:09

Some combination of Storm, Star, Sunshine, Ocean and Moon. Kind of wish I'd given in tbh

pennysays · 30/08/2021 23:09

Ha. Mine is the opposite. We had planned for a mad hippy name and the moment he came out I thought “you look just like a James!” But we’d already agreed no royal names and dp thought I was delirious.

So we called him our pre planned hippy name and enjoy endless “that’s unusual” from everyone we tell.

Another one here for Ophelia!

WhenZoomWasJustAnIceLolly · 30/08/2021 23:54

Glad you changed your mind, I read this as Rosa-lice!

😂😂😂
Even gladder I changed my mind (or was over ruled as an act of mercy!) now!!

I’ve also never seen or read Twilight, is there a Rosalice? I thought it was my own inspired and creative original 😂😂😂 dd is grateful that she has a different name although her middle name is Alice.

Some great names here. I particularly like Magnus. Definitely no more babies for me but I might call my next cat Magnus.

I love so many names that I did find it hard to choose for my children. A few Im relieved I didn't go with in retrospect: I really liked Peregrine (as in Falcon) for a while and Inigo (as in Montoya - I love The Princess Bride)). Several Shakespearean names like Lysander and Titania hit the cutting room floor. I loved Delilah for a girl, and I stand by that as a very pretty name but DH would have driven the whole house mad singing the Tom Jones song)

Firebird83 · 31/08/2021 22:12

River or Atlas

Thank you - it IS a great name! My stupid DH doesn’t know a fab name when he sees one. I will name something Magnus before I die.
KittenKong · 31/08/2021 22:18

Funnily enough it was DH that came up with all the outlandish names.

itbemay1 · 31/08/2021 22:22

Macie-peach ConfusedBlush
Luckily DH made me see sense plus we had a boy and he has a V sensible name!

Balonzette · 31/08/2021 23:27

Name isn't weird, but until 3 days before birth my daughter was Rosa Genevieve. Then had a sudden change of heart.

Other names on the list were Marnie and Belle.
