Mine would have been Isambard and Isis !

It’s just as well that you get 6 weeks to register a bi try h.

DD1 I wanted to name Blossom. Do said no. DD2 I was going for Artemis. I still love this, but they do both suit their actual more mainstream names

Justjoinedforthis · 30/08/2021 21:21

Dusty

3GreenPullups · 30/08/2021 21:21

I also considered Artemis if DS2 had been a girl.

DSIS considered 'Bliss' when she was wacked out on diamorphine.

@MaMelon
The first three might not have gone down too well at their Scottish state school, I recognise that now, but I’m still miffed about Magnus & Odin.
I've met a bloke from the Orkneys called Magnus.
I thought it was a brilliant name.

greenlynx · 30/08/2021 21:24

The same, I’ve done my list of girls names in my 20s . 2 of them were already taken by DH’s nieces when we’ve met so I’ve got only one choice left.

Arya or Wren. Still love both to be fair.

Dd was born at 36 weeks via emcs as I had a catastrophic haemorrhage. I named her a very normal name in utero. When she was born and I first saw her in SCBU I just knew her name had to be changed to Cherry Blossom. No idea where this came from, but the feeling was so strong and I felt it suited her so well. I was absolutely devastated when I announced the new name to my family and they were all Hmm. DH suggested that it would be too tiring for me to register her immediately and we should wait. About 3 weeks later I woke up and thought wtf about naming my child this. Dd is very grateful that DH wanted to hold off!

Oh that made me laugh Grin I’m glad you’re both ok - and that your DH was still thinking straight after such a difficult time for you all!
Biscuitsneeded · 30/08/2021 22:11

Hermione, which I still really like, but luckily DS was a boy so we didn't have to test out how a child named Hermione would fare in a state school.

RicherThanYew · 30/08/2021 22:11

If I'd had more sense than to post for opinions on here my first born would have been Scotty, after the Star Trek engineer. I wanted his middle name to be Tiberius but my MIL stuck her oar in about that.

Put your foot down people and stick to your guns!

ladygindiva · 30/08/2021 22:13

Quinn ( still quite like it)
Claudia ( after a dream)
Django ( definitely hormones)

Bellagonna · 30/08/2021 22:13

I had a very challenging labour, at one point I turned to one of the midwives and said I would call him Richard because he was being a complete dick about coming out properly Blush

MsTSwift · 30/08/2021 22:16

Lorelai what was I thinking. Our surname has two Ls in it total tongue twister

SorryPardonWhat · 30/08/2021 22:18

Tobermory

MilkywayMonarch22 · 30/08/2021 22:19

🤣 my name is on here as one of the more 'out there' ones as are my sisters.
We love them and have never once wanted to change them!

But one of mine was Rainbow. Didn't go for it as I felt it wasn't us. We went for another unusual one instead.

In hindsight the name would have really suited her Smile
