Hey!

Would love to hear some feedback!

at the moment, it’s between these two names or Amber!

We are finding it very hard to pick!!

Terrible and pretentious
Amber is ok though

Hellotoallmyfans · 28/08/2021 21:23

I love it, I know an indigo and she's a lovely girl - some people call her indie. I much prefer it to Amber which I think is a bit more average-sounding.

GreyhoundG1rl · 28/08/2021 21:24

Awful, sorry. Amber is infinitely better, but I wouldn't be overly fond of it either.

daisypond · 28/08/2021 21:42

I’m not keen, but there are worse names. I like Amber.

happydays2345 · 28/08/2021 21:46

😂

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 28/08/2021 21:48

Indigo is fabulous

mustremembertofeedthecat · 28/08/2021 22:02

I think it’s lovely. What matters is that you love it. I really like Amber too

Orangesarenottheonlyfruit · 28/08/2021 22:05

Amber is the least bad of the two.

phoolani · 28/08/2021 22:07

No help, sorry - love both. Practise saying both out loud a lot and see which one grates first!

Givemethatknife · 28/08/2021 22:07

I like Indigo better than Amber, I wouldn’t use Indie as a full name

popcorndiva · 28/08/2021 22:13

I like indigo ....wanted to call my DD it as like colour names but DH hated it and one of my close friends has a India so bit too similar for my liking. I also considered Indiana

HappyDaysToCome · 28/08/2021 22:19

I like Indigo.

PallasStrand · 28/08/2021 22:26

God, not Indigo. It makes it sounds like you subscribe to that New Age ‘Indigo Child’ nonsense.

spartanthehorse · 28/08/2021 22:31

Love it.

KnobJockey · 28/08/2021 22:37

I have a nearly 2 year old Indie. I liked Indigo too, DP vetoed it.

She gets so many compliments on her name when people first hear it- for example, first conversation with someone, I say 'my daughter, Indie', about 75% of people insert 'what a pretty name' into the conversation there. Doesn't happen with anyone else in the families name so I'm taking it as true 😁

It's getting more popular though.

KnobJockey · 28/08/2021 22:38

She does get called India occasionally, and I've called her Lindy a couple of times, no idea why 🤷‍♀️

Viviennemary · 28/08/2021 22:41

Indigo is a mad name. Its a colour in a paintbox. So no. Amber is ok.

Blitzes · 28/08/2021 22:43

Indigo is cute!

Indie just makes me think of Joe wicks and his nails on a chalkboard voice sorry

KnobJockey · 28/08/2021 22:52

@Viviennemary Amber is also a colour in a paintbox 😁

Cindie943811A · 28/08/2021 22:53

If you are brave enough go for it — I really like it. Amber is ok but a bit passé now.

manhattenrain · 28/08/2021 22:54

I love Indie! Don't mind Indigo, not a fan of Amber. Smile

Boredhimtodeath · 28/08/2021 23:24

I love indie, we have two indigos at school and they are both naughty so it has ruined it for me!
Amber I can give or take

KaptainKaveman · 28/08/2021 23:35

Vermilion?
Ochre?
Cobalt?

SpanielRadcliffe · 28/08/2021 23:37

Indie/Indy in a contemporary UK context just means Scottish independence referendum to me. I know a few people who have used it, sometimes in combo with another name (like Indie-Rose) but I feel a little sorry for the children especially now as it's clear that there won't be another referendum and people will look back and see it as a 2014 thing. I know some Americans who have pets called Indy/Indie and it has a completely different context there, like short for independence or the scene around indy (independently labelled) music.

India > Dia or Dee may be OK if you have a connection to India, but it does come across as a little bit colonialist.

Indy short for Indio is also maybe OK, if you have the relevant (Spanish/Latin American) heritage.

QueenofDestruction · 28/08/2021 23:39

Love Indigo, lovely name.
