Thoughts on the name ‘Belle’

But I am old...

I love that Disney movie but really don't like this name. It's a bit dull, insipid and uninspired.

Arabella
Anabelle
Isobel

Belle de Jour..
Belle of the ball

It’s OK as a nickname for Annabelle or whatever, but not as full name whatever you do - it’s a bit naff and will be unfortunate if she’s plain

Not keen. Isabel is far nicer.

No, it’s really awful.

It’s a nice enough name but imagine when she starts French at school and the kids learn that belle=beautiful. They can be cruel little sods. Go for Annabelle or, my (Tudor) favourite which is never used, Arbella.
