Hypothetical really as we are still undecided on baby number 3.
But we still discuss names Grin
What does everyone think of Marley for a girl?
Siblings are Hannah Rosalie and Louise Lily.

Thankyou x

Marlene

I just think Sony Fools and Horses

PlainJane1000 · 18/08/2021 03:52

I knew a Marley, named before the movie came out and thought it was a nice name, not sure how long the movie association will last, doubt her peers would think of it. However agree it doesn't have the same vibe as your other daughters names. I think Georgina nn Georgie works.

CallieOpie · 18/08/2021 04:28

Harriet nn Harrie / Hari?

Balonzette · 18/08/2021 05:39

I'd also feel a bit sorry for Marley Blush Hannah and Louisa are classy and timeless. Marley isn't either. With Hannah and Louisa I'd add:
Rosa
Esther
Martha

CeeceeBloomingdale · 18/08/2021 06:00

I also think it's a dog's name and it doesn't go very well with the classic names of her siblings. I would probably assume they were half siblings and your new partner had very different tastes.

chorusline79 · 18/08/2021 06:16

Agree with others who have suggested Marnie - I love this, and the meaning: from the sea
I wanted this for my daughter but my niece is called Marley so couldn't do it!

manhattenrain · 18/08/2021 07:18

I love Marley! I know of a few, all girls.

MrsSkylerWhite · 18/08/2021 07:20

Marnie?

Bythemillpond · 18/08/2021 09:03

as well as the linking with the film being a dogs name I would have said this was a boys name

bloominglovelyorange · 18/08/2021 09:37

Love Marnie

SnowdaySewday · 18/08/2021 09:56

Maria (or Marie) is pretty and classic, like the sibling names.

If you like Alexander then why not Alexandra?

douliket · 18/08/2021 10:53

I think these names are a better fit with her siblings ,not sure about Marley, definitely associate with a dog

Amelia
Holly
Rosa
Daisy
Emily
Winter
Rella
Vivi
Vivienne
Cora

@Orangesarenottheonlyfruit

My DH has a theory that with 3 kids the good names get used up on the first 2. The third always sounds like a pet. Sorry but Marley reminds me of the dog in Marley & Me or the singer.
😅😅😅 You can tell him that his theory checks out in my birth family!

Molly

CallMeNutribullet · 18/08/2021 10:59

Dog name.

CallMeNutribullet · 18/08/2021 11:00

A dead dog at that

Livvielo · 19/08/2021 03:04

Thank you. I’ve moved on from Marley now Grin I do love Marnie.
I brought Talitha to the table earlier but have now ruled that one out due to pronunciation issues.
Thanks to my other thread, I now have Naomi to suggest.. DH came up with Emmeline and that is certainly a name I’m warming to as it fits both of our tastes.
He likes a classic name.
I like slightly more unusual names. But Emmy is a nickname I think fits my taste.

Hannah, Louisa, Emmeline

Hannah, Louisa, Theodore

Marnie is an Alfred Hitchcock film .

CallieOpie · 19/08/2021 05:25

Emmeline is lovely

douliket · 19/08/2021 05:52

Emmeline for sure
Beautiful
And such a great fit with the others

Spondooliesforholibobs · 19/08/2021 09:29

Emmeline is beautiful and a bit unusual. I really like Naomi and Theodore too!

TyneView · 19/08/2021 10:52

Emmeline Pankhurst - love Emmeline.

35andThriving · 19/08/2021 17:30

I like it a lot. I remember watching a TV programme a few years ago with a female Marley character. At the time it seemed a little bit odd. But now it doesn't at all. Time's moved on, my taste has changed, and I think it's lovely.
