Sibling for India and Rafferty

Looking for inspiration for a name which goes well with India and Rafferty? Don’t know what we are having. Quite like Bodhi for a boy but nothing really shouting out to us in the way of girls names. Georgia maybe possibly?!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I had a cat called Tabitha.

This thread has to be a wind up surely 🤦‍♀️

I think Tallulah really goes with your other names, as does Cosmo

Notanewbee · 11/08/2021 22:36

Op I love India and Rafferty - I would I suppose, I have a 14 year old Jago who loves his name! He has a best friend named Jonty and a close friend named Primrose?

Also love Bohdi and Beau.

wavecatcher · 11/08/2021 22:36

People are always so rude on these threads.

Love Bodhi! What about
Cole
Kit
Kaleb
Tate

I find girls names harder so no clue

Notanewbee · 11/08/2021 22:36

Sorry, Bodhi!

CoffeeRunner · 11/08/2021 22:39

I love Tabitha - nn Tabby.

India & Rafferty are lovely. Names I think might go are:

Valentine
Romeo
Torin
Sebastian
Casper

Natalia
Rosa
Lilia
Matilda (Matty or Tilly)
Nancy

Hooray for Tabitha! I think that's the perfect name match for your siblings (whose names I love too - apologies for my Bodhi joke, it is just a name I have really strong negative feelings about, partly because it is very "white people do Buddhism/but only the bits they find white enough" kind of name, and has a "surfer dude" vibe that, to me at least, doesn't seem to match with your lovely other names.

Cosima is another suggestion.
(No-one liked my baby boy's name, I should add. I went with it anyway, and now people can't imagine him as anything else).

3babessoon · 11/08/2021 22:44

Oh Romy is nice too. My daughter has suggested Roxy and Lexi. I quite like Anaya but doesn’t really flow with the other two.

So rude! Tabitha doesn’t strike me as a very catty name.

What colour are Chinese Buddhists? 🤔

Man bun and surfer dude are spot on but so what?

Germolenequeen · 11/08/2021 22:55

Really? It suited her perfectly

sunnymoo · 11/08/2021 22:55

Bodhi is a lovely fit. Violet for a girl would go well too

Ruthietuthie · 11/08/2021 22:56

@TatianaBis, not to derail the thread but the racial categorization of Chinese people is a complex question (See Michael Keevak's "Becoming Yellow: A Short History of Racial Thinking" (Princeton, 2011).
However, to clarify, what I meant was Euro-Americans who know very little about Buddhism (and have man buns).

Not as rude as the kids will be at school if some of these ridiculous names are used 🙄

TatianaBis · 11/08/2021 23:11

Keevak pointed out that Chinese were referred to as white by Europeans until Europeans decided they were yellow at the point they resisted cultural imprint of the west. (In the 18c)

There speaks a non-Londoner.

True dat 😆

LowlytheWorm · 11/08/2021 23:22

Tallulah and india both finish with an “ah” sound which I wouldn’t like but appreciate some people would be fine with.

I think Juno would go well with the selection, and Saffron (Saffie is cute) and I love Delilah.

VonHerrBurton · 11/08/2021 23:23

I know someone with your two names. They also have a Tabitha (Tabi) and a Skylar. Good luck with the new one x

DaisyWaldron · 11/08/2021 23:28

I live in Yorkshire and know plenty of kids with dames mentioned on this thread (or similar) and afaik none of them have been teased about their names. Except possibly one, whose name was fine when she was born but gained extra connotations a few years later.

3babessoon · 11/08/2021 23:42

Kids will always find something to bully other kids about. We don’t want to change our kids to suit the bullies but rather educate them about these kind of people.
