What are your thoughts on Nikki for a girl, not a nn just Nikki.

I also once new a girl named Kiki, again not a nn but her fullname. Thoughts?

I know a Kiki. Can’t get used to it even after all this time.
Sorry but I don’t like Nikki either. It feels a bit dated to my ears.

clpsmum · 01/08/2021 15:37

Nikki is a bit dated but I know and like two kikis!

emmathedilemma · 01/08/2021 15:42

I think Nikki is better than Kiki but does feel dated to me although I grew up with a generation of Nicolas nn Nicky

Bumblecattabbybee · 01/08/2021 15:47

Don't like it at all, very dated.

woodfort · 01/08/2021 16:27

Really, really 70s / early 80s I think.

Puffalicious · 01/08/2021 16:28

Very dated. Not nice. Sorry.

DinosaurDiana · 01/08/2021 16:33

Nikki reminds me of Nikki Sixx 🤘🏻

EleanorOlephantisjustfine · 01/08/2021 16:34

Very old fashioned.

EvilPea · 01/08/2021 16:38

I know a Kiki, I thought it was a piss take at first. Blush she’s a lovely middle aged lady, but her name does not do her justice.

PearlFriday · 01/08/2021 16:38

I wouldn't. Like Becky and Debbie it's so dated. Also, Nikki is more than dated, it's like, let me go out of my way to spell this in a cool fun way Confused

I know a Nikki who is such an unpleasant character on the inside but outwardly fake lovely. Kisses up and kicks down and I'm down so it would seem, so I admit that does put me off the name!
I like some dated names like Jillian, Melanie, Jennifer, I can see why they were so popular. So not totally against a name just because it's dated.

EvilPea · 01/08/2021 16:39

Nikki is very 80’s, don’t dislike it.
she will be the only one in her class

PearlFriday · 01/08/2021 16:39

Kiki is less awful yes. I quite like that. But I'd be boring and want to use a full name like Kathleen

PearlFriday · 01/08/2021 16:40

Kim is lovely and I'd use that as a full name with a nn of kiki

DinosaurDiana · 01/08/2021 16:48

Kiki is a bit like kinky, so it’s a no from me.

wonderpants · 01/08/2021 16:53

I actually quite like it now you've posted it! I wouldn't have thought of it but I think a little Nikki or Nicky is quite cute!

Feather12 · 01/08/2021 16:55

I also quite like it. I think it might be the spelling that makes it seem a bit dated, but Nicky is really sweet. Especially for a boy.

Nuggetnugget · 01/08/2021 16:56

There were 3 in my class at school late 80s early 90s

Nicole is beautiful though. I love it

Cressie2 · 01/08/2021 17:12

It’s a no from me.

OverByYer · 01/08/2021 17:14

No. I’m 50 and know a few Nikkis and a Nichi

PaolaDiLorenzo · 01/08/2021 17:17

Nikki is very dated. I prefer Nicole,it is a pretty name.

Marty13 · 01/08/2021 17:27

I'm not British so I don't see the dated aspect. I like Nikki but as a nickname, it's not a proper name in and if itself.

I hate hate hate the current trend of giving children nicknames as their full name.

NoWordForFluffy · 01/08/2021 17:29

@PearlFriday

I wouldn't. Like Becky and Debbie it's so dated. I agree with your assessment. And also know a similar Nikki!
EssentialHummus · 01/08/2021 17:31

I quite like Nicola as a name (presumably also seen as 80s?) so I like the sound of Nicola nn Nicky/Nikki. Sounds like I’m in the minority though!

Herecomesthesun70 · 01/08/2021 17:36

@DinosaurDiana

Nikki reminds me of Nikki Sixx 🤘🏻
Just going to say the same. Unless you're a huge 80's rock fan do t called your child Nikki.
Heartofglass12345 · 01/08/2021 17:43

I've always like Nikki as a name by itself
