Carlin/carlyn after a family member named Caroline? I've been watching bringing up the bates and it's really growing on me

I know a Carlyn and a lot of people mistake it for Carolyn which annoys her.

I don’t really have a strong opinion on the name itself but definitely prefer the Carlyn spelling as it seems more feminine.

I initially thought it was masculine, like Carl!

Does Caroline have a middle name you could use instead? Carlin sounds too much like beer and people will constantly think its a misspelling of a different name.

I know an Carlyn (knew her as a child, she's now an early 40s woman), she's lovely. It's a pretty name.

Carlin makes me think of the beer. Carlyn, I'd just assume was a typo for Carolyn.
Caroline is actually a very pretty name as it is.
