I love it.

Beautiful name.

Scarby9 · 10/07/2021 21:28

Love it!
And a wonderful film.

DotBall · 10/07/2021 21:29

Only taught one so quite unusual at secondary age, not sure about in primary.

A pretty name, but you might have to correct people calling her Amelia.

pinkheather · 10/07/2021 21:29

Lovely name - very pretty

yeOldeTrout · 10/07/2021 21:30

Since you've settled on it, it's lovely.

Truth is, I'm not keen, but very much doesn't matter what I think.

You'll make it lovely.

daisypond · 10/07/2021 21:32

I’m really not keen.

delilabell · 10/07/2021 21:33

Someone I know has called her daughter it and it looks a beautiful name but she says people don't know how to pronounce it. I don't know how-to pronounce it Confused

thefirstmrsrochester · 10/07/2021 21:33

Love it. It’s both pretty and sophisticated.

Spidey66 · 10/07/2021 21:36

Lovely name

SheABitSpicyToday · 10/07/2021 21:36

We have an Amelie. No one has ever called her Amelia.

Meredusoleil · 10/07/2021 21:36

It's very popular round my way. I went to school with one 30 years ago (French dad) and there were 2 in my dd2's class until recently (1 has a French dad too). Plus I know of another one under 5 as well.

SionnachRua · 10/07/2021 21:37

We have a fair few of them in my school. It, Emily and Amelia all kind of blend together sound-wise tbh. Pretty name, though - by far the nicest of those three.

sylbunny · 10/07/2021 21:37

How will you pronounce it? I love it but I'd worry people would mispronounce it

Bimblybomeyelash · 10/07/2021 21:38

Very pretty name. I know several under ten. I find it odd that someone wouldn’t
Know how to pronounce it.

TonkinLenkicks · 10/07/2021 21:39

I love it. DH said no to it for DD because it was ‘too french’ 🙄

motogogo · 10/07/2021 21:40

I love it but would only choose it if I had a French connection

Lavender21 · 10/07/2021 21:40

I like it, it's very pretty.

Frazzledd · 10/07/2021 21:43

Beautiful name!

daisypond · 10/07/2021 21:45

I think it only works if you have French links.

DramaAlpaca · 10/07/2021 21:45

I always say this on here - it's very nice if you happen to have a French accent. If you don't, then not so nice.

Nuuktown · 10/07/2021 21:46

So boring

MrsSchadenfreude · 10/07/2021 21:48

@DramaAlpaca yes, agree. Otherwise it becomes “Ammerley.”

Frazzledd · 10/07/2021 22:26

I'd say 'Ammalee'....? I suppose it does depend on your accent, but that's the same with all names! I think it's pretty.

tiredanddangerous · 10/07/2021 22:31

I work in a secondary school and there are a lot of them. It's a pretty name though.

BastardMonkfish · 10/07/2021 22:34

Bit french isn't it? Like calling a boy Jacques.
