I think the male version is Rohan?
I could be wrong

Comedycook · 28/06/2021 19:14

It's a perfectly nice name. I find it quite bland but thats just my taste. I have a friend with a ds called Rowan...it provoked no strong feelings either way.

covidandborisandworld · 28/06/2021 19:14

Love it. Wanted it but dh was no

thyroidhelp · 28/06/2021 19:14

Nay from me. I've heard worse names but it just isn't personally a name I'm a fan of x

Figgygal · 28/06/2021 19:15

I like it

ToastieSnowy · 28/06/2021 19:16

I think the male version is Rohan?

Tell that to Rowan Atkinson. It’s a nice name OP.

pinkheather · 28/06/2021 19:17

Love it!

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 28/06/2021 19:17

Yay. I went to school with a lovely (male) Rowan. I’ve only known it used as a female name in more recent years and so to my ear it’s always masculine.

tiff00 · 28/06/2021 19:17

I thought Rohan was middle earth 🤓 I like it tho.

Roselilly36 · 28/06/2021 19:18

I love it OP, great choice.

Ohhgreat · 28/06/2021 19:19

Love it - wanted it for my youngest but DH didn't like it.

DotDotDotDotDot · 28/06/2021 19:29

I like it but do prefer it for a girl. The thing with unisex names is they eventually end up as girls names. That may or may not bother you by the time your baby is an adult. Good luck though, I do like Rohan as an alternative.

bridgetreilly · 28/06/2021 19:33

I like it for both girls and boys. Good strong nature name.

CatCup · 28/06/2021 19:33

Yay

Sexnotgender · 28/06/2021 19:34

I know several. It’s getting quite popular.

UndeadSlut · 28/06/2021 19:36

I love it, it's the name of a small relative of mine and it suits him so well! I do think of it as truly unisex, doesn't suit either one "more".

BlackLambAndGreyFalcon · 28/06/2021 19:37

@ToastieSnowy

I think the male version is Rohan?

Tell that to Rowan Atkinson. It’s a nice name OP.

And Rowan Williams (former Archbishop of Canterbury).
ILoveStickers · 28/06/2021 19:39

Nice. I know two small boys called this, so still predominantly a male name for me.

shivermetimbers77 · 28/06/2021 19:41

Lovely name.

thatllberight · 28/06/2021 19:43

How would you pronounce it? Like ro-an or row-an where row rhymes with cow? I always prefer the second one.

PurBal · 28/06/2021 19:45

I know a couple in their 30s. Love it.

tiff00 · 28/06/2021 19:54

I've never heard of the second pronunciation

OP posts:
sarah13xx · 28/06/2021 20:02

I love Rowan. It’s very unusual where I stay and the only one I’d ever heard of was a girl so I had it high up my girls list but I think you could definitely use it for either

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 28/06/2021 20:03

@tiff00

I've never heard of the second pronunciation
Confused me neither. Just Ro-un ime.
annacondom · 28/06/2021 20:06

it's a gorgeous name.
