If you had to change your name (not to anything silly like Profiterolina) what first name would you go for?

Really interesting question OP!

I gave a fairly sensible name, but one which others have mentioned in a shortened form which is nice.

I like Emma. Also tempted by something off grid, like Skye.

When I was a kid I liked Harriet from the book Harriet the Spy Grin

MissyB1 · 16/06/2021 15:08

Kathleen (my mum’s name). I love it and it’s much more interesting than my name.

Merchymor · 16/06/2021 15:09

Llinos

Or maybe Lleucu

Or Rhiannon

With Angharad as a middle name.

wanderedlonelyasacloud · 16/06/2021 15:09

Alice Smile its my favourite ever name

CharlieBoo · 16/06/2021 15:16

My name is classic, I really like it but as a child I always wanted to be known by my middle name which is Charlotte, as you could get better nicknames from it... right now probably something like Nancy or Alice..

Pyewackect · 16/06/2021 15:18

I adopted another name when I came back to the UK when I was 14. It's not, of course, on my birth certificate but I've never had any problems

Posieandpip · 16/06/2021 15:36

Id be Nancy or Annie or Eliza. Something a bit Victorian and scullery-maidish.

SoapboxFox · 16/06/2021 15:43

Profiterolina
Grin

Today I think I'd go for Juliette, Clementine or Victoria.

CaffiSaliMali · 16/06/2021 18:13

I should probably say my favourite girls name, Esyllt, but it would have the same spelling and pronunciation issues as my own name, but on a larger scale.

As a young child I wanted to be called Rosie but I no longer like that name. I do like Rosa though, so maybe that. Although I have a lot of love for Annie...

It's really hard to imagine yourself with a different name!

Profiterolina · 16/06/2021 18:21

Oi!

LikeTheOceansWeRise · 16/06/2021 18:31

Ohh I like Rosa too! Or Ella. Or Olivia. My name is very eighties (not Louise though Wink)

DPotter · 16/06/2021 18:42

Eleanor or Rose - think I could carry off either of them. I definitely couldn't carry off Freya which is the other name I wanted for DD, but it is a lovely strong name.

My name dates me to a precise 3 year period in the early 60s and I feel the nickname is very little girly.

MargotHeggerty · 16/06/2021 18:44

Vivienne
Vanda
Gigi

PixieDust28 · 16/06/2021 18:50

I don't think I would actually.

I like my name. It's not common, well in the UK anyway and I think I suit it.

My mums other name choices were Jordan and China so I was in fact very lucky with what she choose to call me.

Honestly... her hormones clearly messing with her head.

LadyCatStark · 16/06/2021 18:50

Charlotte but always shortened to Charlie.

PixieDust28 · 16/06/2021 18:50

chose*

HuntingoftheSnark · 16/06/2021 18:57

Something with one syllable. Faith, Eve, Rose or Blake.

MrsCrosbyNRTB · 16/06/2021 19:01

Tabitha or Rosa.

OR something way out like Andromeda, Sapphire or Seraphina

romdowa · 16/06/2021 19:03

I love to be something unusual like constance. I've a boring common name and I always felt I needed something bigger and different to fit my personality

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 16/06/2021 19:18

Jocelyn. Or Lydia.

Riapia · 16/06/2021 19:18

Belinda.

sourcherie · 16/06/2021 19:32

Margot or Greta

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 16/06/2021 19:40

Liza pronounced Lie-zer.
