That's all really. Middle name will probably be Maria..not that it matters much. Surname is 1 syllable.

I think lindy is fine, I know a Linnie

Anotherhill · 12/06/2021 12:39

Lindy rather than Linda.

ConstanceMarkievicz · 12/06/2021 12:42

I really like like Lindy, it's a nice sound. Not too frilly but just a pretty spirited name.

I like Sunny too but I think of Sunny as a boy.

Tlollj · 12/06/2021 12:47

Had a dog called Lindy when I was a kid. My mum calls me it sometimes by accident.

PennyArcade · 12/06/2021 12:51

I know a Lindy. Her full name is Belinda.

I’m not fussed on Lindy or Sunny. But your child, your choice

TenThousandSpoons · 12/06/2021 12:55

At first I would have said neither, but Lindy has really grown on me just from reading this thread.

CthulhuChristmas · 12/06/2021 12:58

I'd pick Linda over either, or any of the names others have suggested with a 'lin' sound in them, with Lindy as a nickname.

Sunniva is nice, and there's also the more unusual Linniva.

Fifthtimelucky · 13/06/2021 19:15

I don't like Sunny for a girl, or Lindy, for the reason as others have given. Linda is very dated, I think, and hasn't yet come round again. I don't know any Lindas under 60.

How about Linden? I knew one at school and thought it was a lovely name.

MayIDestroyYou · 13/06/2021 19:43

Lindy and Sunny both sound like fairly throwaway diminutives to me - not serious attempts to name a person who might carry that name for 100 years. (Particularly with a single syllable surname - it'll sound so inconsequential.)

AntiWorkBrigade · 13/06/2021 19:53

I would avoid Sunny because of the child in question isn’t an easy-going optimist it comes across as the punchline to a joke. As someone who does not fit into that category I’d be thoroughly embarrassed if I had to keep introducing myself as Sunny to people!

Chilldonaldchill · 13/06/2021 20:22

Lindy is way better than Sunny.
