What "fun" name did you give your child whilst pregnant?

My DD has a perfectly normal name. But during pregnancy I called her "The Papaya" and made sure everyone else did too. The reason? At the time of my anomaly scan the NHS website said that was her size! (I didn't announce my pregnancy until after that - long story.)

Anyway, just wondered what fun names people had called their own bumps. I was Gary btw!

DS was Mos Def for a while, like the rapper / actor, as when we went for the 20 week scan he had his legs akimbo and the sonographer said “ohhh, most definitely a boy!”

DS was Bean.

DC2 (due late 2021) is Peanut.

I know someone who actually named their child Sharky IRL (I shit you not) because they thought he looked like a shark on his scan.

To be additionally cruel, his middle name is George.

DD was pumpkin as her original due date was the 31st October. I still call her my little pumpkin now

DD2 was known as Noah... someone at work named my bump so that’s what I always called it... I think if she’d have been a boy I would have used the name! 😂

Dd1 was just baby.

Dd2 squidge.

DD3 was blob. My best mate still calls her blob.
We had a name set for her but when she was born we changed the syllables around to call her a different name. She is 5 now and the original name occasionally still pops out when we call her.

The Amazin' Raisin... found out when raisin size and it was an amazing surprise after years of infertility

DD was it. I couldn’t stop calling her it.

Even when she was born I kept calling her ‘it’ then kept getting her and the cat mixed up.

Chunk, every time I started prepping food or clinked a plate getting it out of the cupboard she would start doing the truffle shuffle! (She’s now 7months, weaning and I have yet to find a food she doesn’t like!)

Bean and 25 yrs later its his nickname 🤣

Baby one was Bisellah which is the diminutive of the Yiddish word Bissel for little bit.
Baby two was Tarkus which was the name Bisellah suggested we call the baby is it was a boy. He was a boy and that is not his name!

Bob. I forget why, but obviously it seemed reasonable at the time.

Dave and now Fred. Dave turned out to be a girl, and I'll find out about Fred when they evacuate their current abode in October.

Also papaya! He was that size on the app and it stuck.

Flipper. Every time I had a scan she kept flipping over!

Elvis.
I had a planned caesarean 26 years ago. As I was being prepped they asked me what name I had planned. Throughout the pregnancy telling people Elvis, if they asked, shut them up.
The surgeon went outside and asked my husband. He confirmed Elvis. We are very trad, middle class. My son has a beautiful classic name but I loved being able to keep the plan to ourselves🤣

My eldest was mouski and I kept craving cheese flavoured things... Can't remember the other 2 were 🤔
