How would you pronounce Ffion?

So, the name Ffion is really growing on me. However, we live in England and I'm wondering how easy it will be for people to pronounce and whether it's a name they'll be familiar with. It's a Welsh name, meaning 'foxglove'. Thanks.

Feeyon. William Hague’s wife is called Ffion so English people may be more familiar with it than before.

How are you thinking people might pronounce it? Fy-on? I think people are right and Ffion Hague has saved you from that.

Another Ffee-on because that’s how my Welsh friend says her own name 😄. It’s quite popular in England now I think.

Fee-yon

It’s pretty well known because of William Hague’s wife. I think it will start to get popular as an alternative to Seren, so I’d use it now! It’s lovely

Oh good, this is reassuring! I also think it's pretty straightforward, but DH was worried the spelling might throw people a bit...

You do not extend the F
In the Welsh alphabet there is no V and single F makes the V sound.
Double F (FF) makes the English F sound
So it’s pronounced Fe-on

Similarly Fred in English and Ffred in Welsh both are pronounced as “Fred” and Vodka is spelled Fodca but pronounced the same.
If you aren’t Welsh don’t live in Wales then you could drop the one F to regularise the English pronunciation but in Wales she could be called Vion.
