Thoughts on Aspen

What are your thoughts on Aspen? If you know any are they male or female?

It's a ski resort in Colorado. Very reliable snow.

Never come across this as a name of a person.
It’s a place.
It’s pretty and I’d think of it as a girls name but I don’t like place names for children.
Quite American sounding.

When I hear 'Aspen' I always think of the film Dumb and Dumber

Also, I don't really like the 'ass' sound at the beginning, I wouldn't like it if my name began with that sound.

I've heard of a few american girls called Aspen. It's pretty and outdoorsy

Unless you're American, I would say no.

Lovely place to ski, not a child's name

Aspens are beautiful trees. They actually communicate with each other and colony of trees are a single organism with a unified root system.
Each Aspen colony is called a Pando.

I really like it! Never heard of it as a name but it is pretty. It sounds more like a girl's name (like Hazel, Rowan)

Nice ski resort, my friend went to Aspen University. But I wouldn’t use it as a name.

To me it's an American girls' name.

Ski resort. Too many Ass jokes to be made. And with how Americanised our comedy is (esp on YouTube) you can guarantee that kids will know the word ass on the playground.

1st thought that came to me as well ski resort. 2nd was a nursing home called aspin court

It's the name of our school caterers. So it's a no from me.

Even so, I think it sounds like a medicine.

I'm sure the "first British Gay Dads" couple many years ago named their twins Saffron and Aspen, only time I recall hearing it as a name but it's ok.

It's pretty but I wouldn't want to give a child any name that might encourage Ass as a derivative.

I just googled it and yes, Aspen is their eldest son.
