Primrose or Lily-Rose

What do you think of Primrose and Lily-Rose?
I'm looking for a really pretty girls. I've grown up with a unisex name and hated it.
Currently my short list consists of Juliet, Violet and Eloise.
I also like Isabella but worried it will just be shortened to Issy or Bella (Bella doesn't go with the surname unfortunately). Like Isabel but worry there's too many spelling variations.

Primrose would probably get shorted to Prim unfortunately.

Violet is beautiful and classic. I love Eloise too. All the names are nice but personally not a fan of hyphenated names so lily-rose is my least favourite but either lily or rose are perfectly pretty and nice names.

Juliet, Violet and Eloise are really lovely
So is Isabella, but there are too many so I’d avoid
But please not Primrose or Lily-Rose, they are both drippy and twee as hell and the double barrelled option is very downmarket -

Eloise is really pretty and my favourite but may merge into all the Ellies.

Please not primrose, years (25?) ago my DS was in hospital, the child in the next bed was primrose, spent 3 days with said child running riot and mum in a very nasal and whiney voice droning primrose to no avail ... violet is lovely as is Juliet x

Violet and Juliette are lovely. Rose is beautiful too.

Don't like Primrose but love Juliet and Lily.

Lily or Rose are lovely. Not hyphenated. I'm not keen on Primrose, makes me think of prim and proper. Love Violet, Juliet and Eloise are ok. Isabella and Isobel are nice too but I personally avoided as I don't like Izzy as a nickname. Love Belle or Bella but you've already said they don't work with your surname.

I dont like Lily Rose. The others are all lovely. Primrose makes me think of Brambly Hedge.

How about Rose? Rosalin? Rosie?

I love Primrose! Can be Rosie as a nickname rather than Prim.

Primrose is great and offers different nickname options which I think is a good thing. Violet and Eloise are lovely too.

I much prefer Primrose. I also love Juliet and Violet, and don't mind Eloise.

No to lily-rose as I personally know about 5 lily-roses. It's an extremely common name with an extremely common double barrelled name, rose. I do love Primrose. I also love Aurora, Delilah, Violet, Hazel & Lux.

I’m afraid o belong to the mumsnet vocal minority that hate double barrels first names. IMO they are tacky.

Primrose. It could do with a comeback. Every other kid is called Lily Rose
