Violet or Felicity?

Opinions welcome! I really like both - Violet is quite popular these days but Felicity is maybe a bit posh. Not sure if it’s a boy or girl yet but preparing!

A vote for Violet!

It is my DD's middle name and sometimes I think that it is a shame that it is 'hidden'!

LittleBirdBlu · 09/05/2021 21:19

I have a Felicity, it's a lovely name and she's the only 1 her school, so not a popular name. I love Violet too.

Happycat1212 · 09/05/2021 21:26

Violet

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 09/05/2021 21:29

Felicity is lovely (I don't find it especially posh, especially now it's made it into the top 100). While I like Shakespearean Viola, Violet is a bit close to Violent for me (and I'm less keen on the sound).

I like both.
And I love Fliss for Felicity.

Namechangin101 · 09/05/2021 21:32

If i were to have a girl i would go for Felicity.

luxurychocolate · 09/05/2021 21:34

Violet

IslandLulu · 09/05/2021 21:35

Felicity.

Violet is also lovely.

3CCC · 09/05/2021 21:36

Felicity
It's a favourite name of mine

MajorNeville · 09/05/2021 21:38

Felicity. I don't like Violet at all.

takemetothelakes · 09/05/2021 21:39

Love both but I think Violet is my favourite.

Orangebug · 09/05/2021 21:40

Felicity

Mysa74 · 09/05/2021 21:45

I like Violet slightly more than Felicity but it does depend on your local accent. A lot of T's get dropped in my neck of the woods and it would really irritate me...

Kollamoolitumarellipawkyrollo · 09/05/2021 21:58

Felicity.

Violet and Violent look so similar and I see that when I read it.

MooseMoose · 09/05/2021 22:56

Violet or Viola are lovely. Not keen on Felicity - nice meaning but always sounds quite horsey to me, and I hate the nicknames - Fliss, Flick, Fizz etc.

DramaAlpaca · 09/05/2021 22:58

I'd choose Felicity.

partyatthepalace · 09/05/2021 23:03

Felicity, getting quite popular so no longer so posh.
Violet is nice too, but deffo more popular.
There is also Viola...

Ellmau · 09/05/2021 23:29

Felicity.

MercyBodle · 09/05/2021 23:32

Both lovely names. Forget posh - not that I agree that it is - and choose a name because you like it.
I think I prefer Violet by a pinch.

Lalliella · 09/05/2021 23:38

Violet. It’s really pretty. Or French it up with Violette.

TatianaBis · 09/05/2021 23:56

Violet by miles.

Felicity is so dowdy and geeky.

AnnaSW1 · 09/05/2021 23:57

Violet!

SirVixofVixHall · 09/05/2021 23:57

Felicity. Such a beautiful meaning.

lydia2021 · 10/05/2021 00:16

I like Violet... I know two Violets here on Dartmoor. Both older ladies though
