I work in a school (ks2) I have multiples in my bubble of:
Jake
Charlie
Oliver
Logan
Then the similar ending girls names which get tiresome: Olivia, Amelia, Mia, Eva, Ava, Millie, Maisie, Evie.
Hearing names like David, Alan, Rose and Lucy is a breath of fresh air, I do admit to doing a double take when I heard Alan.

Ah! I know a young Alan! I think it’s a great name!

Violetlavenders · 08/05/2021 11:35

I guess the reason they are so popular is because they are nice names.

Unfortunately if many parents choose the same few 'nice' names they become overused and dull.

@AliceMcK

Anything on the top 20 list over the last 10 years. I’m not a fan of fashionable names. I think when naming children the name should have meaning rather than taken from a fashion list,
Exactly. That's why I chose one not in the top 100. 24 years later it's about number 12!
KineticSand · 08/05/2021 12:37

Arthur Arlo Alfie Archie

Evie/ Evelyn variants

KateF · 08/05/2021 13:05

I work in a baby room. We're seeing a lot of Alfie, Archie, Ivy and Poppy in our new starters (so born over the last year). These have replaced the wave of Arlo, Ollie, Olivia and Isabel who are now toddlers.

tinaturnover · 08/05/2021 13:10

Cutesy boy names ending in -ie or -o for boys:
Freddie, Eddie, Teddie, Arlo, Alfie, Archie, Theo, Leo, Milo etc. Add Luca to this list too even though it ends in a.

Cutesy girls names:
Millie, Lilly, Isla, Daisy, Darcie, Lola, Ella, Tilly, Elsie, Evie, Bella.

El names and L names for girls:
Ella, Elsie, Lottie, Lola, Lucy, Luna, Ellie, Lara, Eliza.

OAP/peaky blinders names, girls names with belle or bel or bella, celebrity names.

Alfie Olivia Isla

KateF · 08/05/2021 13:14

We had an Isla whose mum obv iously anticipated there being several as her backpack is personalised as Isla W. She's our only Isla in the entire nursery!
