Pretty and underused? A bit naff and too much associated with the teenage witch? I can't decide!

I personally really like it. It was one of my choices for my dd but we went with another name. I may use it this time if I have a girl.

romdowa · 01/05/2021 10:57

I think it's a very pretty name. I only know one person with the name and she must be late 30s , early 40s.

Pyewackect · 01/05/2021 10:59

Absolutely love it.

partyatthepalace · 01/05/2021 11:39

I really like it.

Her peers won’t associate it with teenage witches (neither would I), but anyway it’s not a bad ref

FiveGs · 01/05/2021 11:42

I like the name, despite knowing a horrid one in my late teens. Her nickname was Breeny which I thought was nice.

StevieNix · 01/05/2021 11:42

I really like it! It does make me think teenage witch but it’s not a bad association and most names have some sort of association for someone.
I think it’s elegant and stands out (in a good way) amongst the current trend for cutesy names like Evie, Ava etc

MooseMoose · 01/05/2021 12:03

Thank you - I wasn't expecting such positive comments! It does strike me as a very happy, but strong name. Girly, but not too frilly.

teenage witch here

AnyaMoondial · 01/05/2021 12:05

Like it.

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 01/05/2021 12:08

I’ve always had a fondness for the name Sabrina, yes I think of teenage witch but that’s not a bad thing at all, but generally it reminds me of Sabrina Duncan the smart one in Charlie’s Angels back in the 70’s from when I was a kid, it’s lovely.

Frankley · 01/05/2021 12:20

Nice, Sabrina Fair. Film with Audrey Hepburn, not teenage witch to me.

Standrewsschool · 01/05/2021 12:21

Love it,ever since Charlie Angel days. Sabrina was the cool brunette, and as a brunette, I felt I identified with her most.

riotlady · 01/05/2021 12:28

I love it!

ChequerBoard · 01/05/2021 12:28

Lovely. Reminds me of the film - both the Audrey Hepburn and the later Julia Ormond versions.

PattyPan · 01/05/2021 12:31

I very much associate it with the teenage witch - there’s a new series on Netflix as well now called the chilling adventures of Sabrina.

BuffyFanForever · 01/05/2021 12:43

Only the parents will associate with teenage witch but I wouldn’t be able to get it out of my head. Not overly common though so she might not have a namesake in her class at school 😊

AuntieStella · 01/05/2021 13:23

I really like it.

It dropped out of favour because of the teenage witch, but if that's no longer current then no reason to avoid (I don't think it was major enough to cast a long shadow, but wasn't quite right concurrently)

Lightningrain · 01/05/2021 13:25

I like it. Really like Serena as well.

WeeGobshiteBentBastard · 01/05/2021 13:26

I love it too. 😀

Soubriquet · 01/05/2021 13:30

I used to know a Sabrina

She went by Sabs. I like it

Dinosauraddict · 01/05/2021 13:46

I went to school with one, everyone called her Sabs. It just makes me think of the witch when I hear/see the name though!

ShoppingPrecinctPrincess · 01/05/2021 13:52

I immediately thought of the Audrey Hepburn film rather than the Teenage Witch. It's a lovely name. Sounds elegant to my ear.

Jeschara · 01/05/2021 16:22

I like it too.

Peachbubble · 01/05/2021 18:14

I like it, reminds me of Charlie's Angels and Audrey Hepburn.

finallychangedmyusername · 01/05/2021 19:01

Pretty and underused IMO. I like the fact that there's not just one association with Sabrina, but a few - Charlie's Angels, Teenage Witch, Audrey Hepburn. I like it and have only ever met one Sabrina, who occasionally went by Sabby I believe.
