Help with boys names

We have a long list of girls names that we really like and I’m sure we’ll be able to pick a gorgeous name from but we’re both stumped with boys, none of them seem special enough and really boring compared to our girl’s list.

So far we have:

Nathaniel (Nate)- I love but DP isn’t keen, he likes Nathan but I’m not keen!
Gabriel (Gabe)- I’m a little bit worried about the potential for ‘gay’ name calling.
Adam - bit boring
Issac (Zac) - I think it’s too popular
Ethan - bit too popular plus I’m from London where all my family (and probably me!) will pronounce it with an F.
Cameron- I’m not that keen and really dislike the David Cameron connection
Rory - blergh

Middle name will be Jasper and is non-negotiable, surname is a very short animal name that ends with an X (🦊) so we can’t have anything too short or with an X sound- pease help!

I really like Jasper as a first name but if it’s non-negotiable from your list I’d also say I like Rory. I’m having the same issue just now with boys names just not being that wowy compared to girls names 😕 Other names I love but can’t use for various different reasons: Euan, Callum, Finn, Ari

Adriel, Adrian, Isaiah, Evan, Crispin, Ronan?

I can’t use a few off of your list because family have them. I quite like Ari but I don’t think DP will find it ‘strong’ enough plus I think it’s too short for the surname.

I think Nathaniel and Gabriel are both nice! Not keen on Ethan if it's pronounced Eefan.

Nathaniel Jasper Fox is too tongue twisty. Its coming out in my head as Nafaniel Jathper Thox .
Gabriel Jasper Fox is gorgeous It just rolls off the tongue. I don't think there's any teasing potentials. You're living in the 90s with those thoughts.

There are plenty of Gabriels out there. Gabe Fox sounds really cool.
I don't like Adam but I can appreciate its a nice name. Although I do love the flow of Adam Jasper Fox
Isaac Jasper Fox.... Okay. Not great not awful either
I go hot and cold on Ethan at the moment I'm Ice cold.
Cameron Jasper Fox. Flows nicely. Although Cameron will always make me think of David Cameron.
Rory Jasper Fox. Good name.

Can he not have Jasper as his first name? Jasper Fox sounds like a good name.

I like Raphael but DP vetoed it. Theodore has the same TH=F problem, but I do like it.I like Luca (not too keen on Lucas) but DP won’t accept a name that’s from a heritage that were not - at least if it hasn’t become very assimilated.

For balance I’ve vetoed lots of his suggestions as he likes ‘naughty boy’ names that I see as 30 years out of date, such as Kevin, Dean and Liam.

I love Nathan, Gabriel and Rory.

Outing myself somewhat but Jasper is my surname so I think it would be odd to have as a first name for the baby.

I think I’m maybe leaning to Gabriel, and you’re right in probably overthinking the nickname potential.

I don’t mind Laurence, but the twatty actor turned activist makes that a no-go!

I think Gabriel is lovely, too. I don't think there is potential for name calling. I taught a few and they were known as Gabe ( Cliffhanger is one of my favourite films, and the main character was Gabe).
I loved Nathaniel when mine was born. He was very nearly Nathaniel until OH said, Hallo, Nathan! So I vetoed it. I do not like Nathan.

I chose Dominic and still love it.
I think Adam is a classic name. Love it. Rory and your others am marmite.

I think Nathan nn Nate might be a good compromise if you like Nate

I'd avoid all the top 100 names if you want something a bit less used

Love all these. And they pass the ‘grownup test’ none would sound wrong on a barrister, an actor or a pilot :)

I like Reuben but it’s been vetoed @Nats1984. I don’t hate Nathan but I think I will always see it as second best to Nathaniel (even though I know this is silly as day to day he would be Nate). We have a Zachary in the family and I’m not keen on Michael.

@Flymetothestars I only really like one name on that list and it’s DP’s! I do like Freddie but DP doesn’t.

Reuben and Freddie were also on our list! Kit too but I didn’t want to use Christopher and wasn’t sure if I could use Kit on the birth certificate. We’re in Scotland and I think we’ve ended up going back to the name we had picked years ago (Harris) when we casually said what our kids names would be (for a boy and girl). It’s now way more popular than it used to be when I originally liked it so that annoys me about it. Want to make a sign saying I picked it years ago 😂

@ManCubsMama because I’m finding it hard to pick a name from the millions of others out there that we both love, so I’ve included some that are more compromise names in the hope that they’ll grow on me if we can’t find anothe name in the meantime, not that unusual I’m sure
