Sister for Margot and Inez

We are currently pregnant with DD3 and are struggling with names!! DD1 is Margot Marie, the Margot honouring my dad (Mark) and Marie my husbands mums middle name. DD2 is Inez Philippa, Inez honouring my Spanish father in laws heritage and Philippa is my mums first name. Obviously we have now honoured the grandparents and are struggling with DD3s name.

We like names that are slightly unusual with a modern twist but also not completely foreign. We also think our girls names are quite bad-ass but that’s personal opinion Grin

My husband is half spanish and half Norwegen so we are considering names like Astrid, which we like but are not in LOVE with. For middle names we are thinking either a name starting with D as all her great grandmothers have a name starting with D or my husband is thinking of using my name, Kitty. So they are our thoughts so far. We have also considered first names like Eliza and Sadie.

Any suggestions of bad-ass girl names or middle names would be amazing!!

Ha, didn't spot you'd said Astrid!

Since you have done it for your other daughters, I'd personally look for other family names you could use variations of for DD3. Dh's Mums first name? Feminine variations of Dh fathers name or Dh's name? Longer versions of Kitty to link to you - Katia, Katharina, Catalina, Christina, Kirsten/Kristen, Christabel etc?

Your DD names are beautiful. Really love them. I wanted Margot, alas I was blessed with all boys.

I really like Sadie. It’s a little bit of a throw back to the 80s but is a tiny bit exotic.

Freya is pretty but I’m not sure it fits. Ffion would be more in keeping. Astrid is lovely, what about Azelia / Azalea? Xanthe? Reva? Beau? Beatrix?

Aww I want a baby girl now.

Neighneigh · 03/04/2021 19:31

I love Astrid too. How about Juliet, or Lara?

Oh my goodness so so many replies - thank you! I think Freya and Heidi are both nice and were discussed for DD1&2 but we just don’t love them honestly - gorgeous names though :) I really like Violet and I will talk to DH about it! I am actually warming to Astrid as so many of you equally liked it I was nervous it was a bit stodgy?

For middle names I don’t think we are going for a variation of Kitty If we do use it as I’m names after my great grandmother. However, I’ve also been thinking of Delilah (the D theme from all 4 grandmothers!) what are thoughts on that?

Any more suggestions? and what are your thoughts/perceptions of Astrid?
