Sister for Margot and Inez

We are currently pregnant with DD3 and are struggling with names!! DD1 is Margot Marie, the Margot honouring my dad (Mark) and Marie my husbands mums middle name. DD2 is Inez Philippa, Inez honouring my Spanish father in laws heritage and Philippa is my mums first name. Obviously we have now honoured the grandparents and are struggling with DD3s name.

We like names that are slightly unusual with a modern twist but also not completely foreign. We also think our girls names are quite bad-ass but that’s personal opinion Grin

My husband is half spanish and half Norwegen so we are considering names like Astrid, which we like but are not in LOVE with. For middle names we are thinking either a name starting with D as all her great grandmothers have a name starting with D or my husband is thinking of using my name, Kitty. So they are our thoughts so far. We have also considered first names like Eliza and Sadie.

Any suggestions of bad-ass girl names or middle names would be amazing!!

Astrid and Delilah are nice. Both would go with your Dd1 and dd2 names

AdriannaP · 03/04/2021 21:00

Like both Delilah and Astrid. Delilah slightly more, Astrid is becoming a bit “trendy” I think.

Cindy87 · 03/04/2021 21:01

Matilda or Edie

littlewhitestar · 03/04/2021 21:01

Astrid is beautiful and fits perfectly with Margot and Inez.

I don't think it works well with a middle name beginning with D as it ends in a D. Kitty is a lovely name too but I think a softer (or at least different) vowel sound would sound better as middle name with Astrid eg

Astrid Rose
Astrid Jane
Astrid Fleur

littlewhitestar · 03/04/2021 21:04

Astrid Elise would be lovely too.

The Margot I know has a sister called Camilla which I love.

Astrid Elise would be lovely too.
This is BEAUTIFUL oh my goodness such a pretty pairing! My middle name is Elspeth which is drawn from Elizabeth like Elise - so technically a family name ahhaha Grin

Dahlia - Scandinavian origin

SmeleanorSmellstrop · 04/04/2021 05:35

I think it has to have an international and also cool feel.

Rosa and Alma spring to mind - both international and end in an 'a' sound which is nice as all names have a different ending sound (which for some reason I love!). Astrid also very cool.

kittyjames · 04/04/2021 08:02

These are all such lovely suggestions - thank you. Knowing others think Astrid is modern rather than stodgy has started turning me towards it more - plus DH and I watched crazy rich Asians last night, which has an Astrid as a lead, really cool woman and it’s both made us more invested in the name (I know a movie/book shouldn’t affect that but I think it’s seeing it on someone else who’s young and independent really changes it)

So do you like:
