How do we feel about April for a little girl? We seem to be particularly drawn to A names this time around if anyone has any other suggestions!

TIA Smile

Love it!!!

partyatthepalace · 03/04/2021 12:01

Quite like it, for a baby born in that month.

Astrid, Adela, Aislinn (Ash-linn), Annabeth

KirstenBlest · 03/04/2021 12:08

Not keen. Likely to get jokes about showers and birth month.

DragonPoop · 03/04/2021 12:09

I like it!

May2021Mummy · 03/04/2021 12:14

Love it 💜

UnlikelybutTrue · 03/04/2021 12:15

Love it but would be worried about being teased - April Fool, April showers.
Avril
Alice Alicia
Agatha
Anna
Astrid

3AndStopping · 03/04/2021 12:54

Will take into consideration the teasing. Although I don’t think the associations are necessarily negative so not sure she’d be hugely offended?

& she wouldn’t be born in April...

Another we liked was Adelaide, nicknames Ada, Addie?

Love it. DH said no😕

Sniffingtheair · 03/04/2021 12:57

I love April and Adelaide - they were both on my girl list.

2tired2bewitty · 03/04/2021 12:58

Lovely name. I know two, both adults, neither with birthdays in April, which I think is the only thing they get a bit of gentle ribbing about as adults.

WednesdayalltheWay · 03/04/2021 12:59

I like April a lot.

SmallPrawnEnergy · 03/04/2021 13:02

I know a couple of April’s, either born in April and neither really have that much said to them about their name. Mind you, if I met people that thought they were “original” and “hilarious” enough to joke about someone’s name I wouldn’t be hanging around them anyway.

3AndStopping · 03/04/2021 13:07

@Sniffingtheair ooo what did you land on in the end? Or what others were on your girl list? We obviously have similar taste Smile

3AndStopping · 03/04/2021 13:07

@SmallPrawnEnergy it’s a school thing really isn’t it? An adult doing it is especially pathetic though! 😂

I have an April. Her first year was full of "Oh was she born in April?" "No" "Oh thats unusual"

Doesn't seem to have been much of an issue since then. People do constantly forget her birthday as they seem to think it should be in April. She hasn't been teased about her name except by her sister who likes to yell her name then say I wasn't calling you I was saying the month! Hmm

Greenrubber · 03/04/2021 13:13

I like the name Autumn
April is nice also

3AndStopping · 03/04/2021 13:15

@Nursingdreams83 🤣🤣🤦🏼‍♀️ Excellent. Annoying sisters are to be expected...!

Sniffingtheair · 03/04/2021 13:16

@3AndStopping Willow was our other possible. We had boys so didn’t end up using any of them.

3AndStopping · 03/04/2021 13:20

@Sniffingtheair Ahh, ok. Willow is very pretty but we know a few now.

SirSamuelVimes · 03/04/2021 13:25

I like April. It's pretty and spring like and delicate and it doesn't end in either an 'ah' or 'ee' sound which makes a very nice change from most girls' names at the moment!

Slightly unusual, but everyone knows how to say it and spell it! Win win.

Ismellphantoms · 03/04/2021 13:26

Adelaide is a much better name. April fool comes to mind.

VenusClapTrap · 03/04/2021 13:29

Love it, and Avril and Adelaide too. I do like A names - I have an Audrey. I also had Anouk on my list.

Twizbe · 03/04/2021 13:31

Avril is better if not likely to be born in April.

3AndStopping · 03/04/2021 13:32

We’re still very much in the decision process so all opinions/suggestions are helpful Smile

Not keen on Avril, honestly it’s the Avril lavigne association. Think i might come across as a mega fan... which I was, at 12! Grin
